Germanic Gameplay Overhaul

“Without being armed they transact nothing, whether of public or private concernment.” - Tacitus

From the forests and swamps of Germania come ferocious warriors armed with spear and axe. These men are lightly armed but excel at skirmishing and cavalry engagements.

This overhaul aims to breathe new life into the Germanians, introducing reforms from the disorganised charges of the early Germanic warriors to the impenetrable sea of spears of later warriors. It also enables area of recruitment for a number of local tribal units including crazed Chatti warriors, Cimbri war dogs and the terrifying Arii demon warriors. It also limits female units to garrisons, whilst transforming the wolf warriors into an alternative type of berserker unit.

Alongside this, the older recruitment buildings are removed and replaced with the Warrior’s Lodge building chain and a new building chain: the Muster Field. Artillery is also locked behind late siege tech, preventing artillery span in the early periods, but not limiting their ability to access it at all.
