Description
No longer being worked on.

The Flamethrower and the Plasma Torch can both be found within the game files, and has sound and partial graphics. Stumbling upon them, I couldn't keep myself from making these weapon usable, useful and fun! This mod, therefore, enables the Flamethrower and makes it available at the start of the game, and makes the Plasma Torch available for manufacture once Heavy Plasmas have been researched (might require a New Game to take effect).

Images and sounds for the Flamethrower and the Plasma Torch are provided by the original game (Xenonauts, by Goldhawk Interactive).

As of v1.11 the Plasma Torch fires blue flames and makes blue fire (which currently actually is a gas that simply looks like fire, but still deals incendiary damage upon contact)! Flamethrowers are devastating weapons, capable of covering sizable areas in flames and burning anyone caught. They are also Heavy weapons, meaning a strong soldier is needed to use them effectively (they use the lower of ACC and STR to determine accuracy). For safety reasons, no reaction fire is available with these weapons.

Did you have a mod called 'Vazl's Weapons Pack'? If so, you should know that it appears to be gone from the Workshop. I'm finding out the removal has effectively destroyed every savegame that used it.

Starzy Killstar: I have no idea :) I haven't been in touch with the Xeno community for quite some time now. Around 2 years, to be more precise. A flame suit would be very doable, however. I can't see why not, at least.

Xenonauts 2 is getting worked on, however, and I can't waaait! :D

Is there a mod that adds a flame suit? So your flametrooper can walk through fire without taking damage.

I actually fixed that- by copying the plasma heavy gun (forget what it was called) since it looks almost the same. I just copied and renamed the files. It looked decent enough, I thought.

It should work together with X:CE, but I haven't tried it myself.

The Predator armor has no sprites for that weapon, so the whole character would probably just look invisible if I just enabled it for use with the Predator armor -- unless you changed the weapon itself to look like a totally different weapon when using the armor, which I didn't like. Totally possible to do, if you'd like to, however :D

I tried to modify the files to get this to work with the predator armor, but it wouldn't work so I just modified the pred armor to use anything and just didn't use the other guns.
