Did you have a mod called 'Vazl's Weapons Pack'? If so, you should know that it appears to be gone from the Workshop. I'm finding out the removal has effectively destroyed every savegame that used it.

Starzy Killstar: I have no idea :) I haven't been in touch with the Xeno community for quite some time now. Around 2 years, to be more precise. A flame suit would be very doable, however. I can't see why not, at least.

Xenonauts 2 is getting worked on, however, and I can't waaait! :D

Is there a mod that adds a flame suit? So your flametrooper can walk through fire without taking damage.

I actually fixed that- by copying the plasma heavy gun (forget what it was called) since it looks almost the same. I just copied and renamed the files. It looked decent enough, I thought.

It should work together with X:CE, but I haven't tried it myself.

The Predator armor has no sprites for that weapon, so the whole character would probably just look invisible if I just enabled it for use with the Predator armor -- unless you changed the weapon itself to look like a totally different weapon when using the armor, which I didn't like. Totally possible to do, if you'd like to, however :D

I tried to modify the files to get this to work with the predator armor, but it wouldn't work so I just modified the pred armor to use anything and just didn't use the other guns.

So i used this against a pile of explosived just because i wanted to see what would happen (i had one of the predator dudes drop C4 and grenades) And they explosive.
So if you want to set a trap place down c4 in an area in multiple spots, use the flamer and BOOM

Oh and some dank shit i found about this mod, it shoots through the doors.
3 sebillians camping inside, i just shot into the door and the fire killed them. So fire goes through walls :D

But id say the standard armor but red. If you can make it fireproof then thumbs up for you :)

It's very possible, but I don't have the kind of skills in making graphics to make a good enough looking new suit of armor. Well, hmm, maybe I could do something simple for it, however, like just a recolor of another type of basic armor. Yeah, I can do that, but I don't know when I'll have time to actually get it done :|

Hmm make a special flame suit that adds a decent amount of armor. Or add a flame resistant suit.
Although i dont know if you're skilled enough or if youd want to put work into that.

Yeah, been over that already :3 The predator armor has no weapon graphics that fit the current looks of either the Flamethrower nor Plasma Torch, so I decided not to make it available with the Predator Armor. Would just look weird. Feel free to edit the files however you want, though. Also, merry xmas :)

Would be nice to use the flamer and torch with Predator Armor. Was hoping for a sort of human flame tank affect.

Probably one of the other mod I use mess with it then, it's logic for flamethrowers to not be effective against robots, but plasma should be, not both though I believe. =p

T0urmy: That's weird. Both the regular Flamethrower and the Plasma Torch should still be dealing energy damage, and I haven't changed that in.. forever :) Should simply be a straight upgrade, damage-wise, and no other difference between them. My files still says that's the case, too, so I dunno.

Nice mod.
Sadly, Androns resist the Plasma Torch as if it was firing normal flames, while all other plasma weapons melt these robots.

Like, the song makes me of amodern day fire mage, in a large mechanized war suit, shooting incindiary rockets and gattling guns with incindiary ammo and flamethrowers and just burning all the motherfucking things and helicopters with rockets and lava and jsut MOTHERFUCKING BURNING FLAMES OF FIREY DEATH!

I'd recommend giving it a listen to, if you're a fan of angry Angry ANGRY MOTHERFUCKING HEAVY METAL MUSIC. Yes you can understand what the singer is saying, this isn't screamo.

All I can think of, is a song by Five Finger Death Punch appropriatly named "Burn motherfucker".
It's a very angry song, and fits with just about anything that is fire related.

streaks_art: Apparently they were working on it, but I've no idea why they didn't complete their work to actually make them usable in their release of this game. This mod only uses the names and graphics of these weapons; all actual specifications, in this mod, is just my way of making these weapons usable and fun :)

I have an experimental build of this mod that I am considering releasing, but I'm not quite sure yet. It contains incapacitating gas and toxic gas, for both the Flamethrower and the Plasma Torch.

Wow, good idea about a freeze! I am definitely going to fool around with cryo ammo in the experimental build, that is exceptionally good at suppressing. Thank you for that idea :)

I recently finished the game and I planned to replay full of mods, I'm definitely going to use this. As for suggestions I noticed you said you were expermenting with different ammo types and I though a cryogenic one would which would freeze (suppress) the aliens would be cool :)

Got it working on the predator now, thanks! I can't say it's perfectly balanced, but it's certainly fun having a pyromanic terminator.

It is 100% possible to change these weapons into "big guns", but as I've explained above one would have to assign different weapon graphics for these weapons in combination with the Predator. I'm personally content with them not being usable with the Predator. If you want to change this on your own, you are more than welcome to do so :) You can find the files for this mod in "Steam\steamapps\common\Xenonauts\assets\mods\Mikiztli's Hot Flamer". Weapons.XML is where you'll have to go to change these weapons into big guns. You would also have to point the spectre files for the FT/PT+Predator combination towards the graphics you would like them to use. These can be found in "units\xenonaut\armour.predator\weapon.flamethrower" and "units\xenonaut\armour.predator\weapon.plasmaflamer".

I'm very glad you've enjoyed this mod :) They are heavy weapons, yes, but they are not "big guns", which is the variable that the Predator armor is looking for in weapons. The game does not contain unit frames for the Predator armor using the kind of weapon graphics I've chosen for the Flamethrower and the Plasma Torch, so I decided then to not make these weapons "big guns", because it would look very weird if these weapons suddenly looked like machine guns or rocket launchers when used with the Predator (or just render the units invisible).

Nice work with this mod, I've brought a flamer on every mission of my new campaign and have enjoyed using it quite a bit. However, one issue I'm having now is that, at least for my client, soldiers can't use the flamethrower/plasma torch with the predator armor despite these weapons being classified as heavy weapons. This is a bit annoying being as this armor/weapon combo would be perfect. Would you consider changing this, or do you at least know how I could change it for my own playthrough?

And you're sure you did not disable a mod that your current save was using? That can in many cases cause crashes like that. If not, try deleting your Steam's "appcache" folder, and I'd also suggest running the game using the Community Edition (right-click the game in your Steam library, select properties, go to the beta tab and select community), and restart Steam. Not really sure what else could be causing this, because there currently shouldn't be any issues within this mod that would cause this crash by itself. Xenonauts does have a tendency to crash now and then, for (to me) no apparent reason :)
