But yes - that most likely one of the very few water mods out there that might work with those shallows out of the box.
I'll try to update my green water this weekend. If it's still not to your satisfaction after that I'll take a look at the shallows. :)
If it's problematic, default 512p would do fine.
At the beginning AoE had a lot more performance problems than it has now, so I always tried to make my mods as small as possible (you can find mods out there that have like 80 mb of just terrains, this mod already covers ak and a lot more objects than just terrains and still is at ~12 mb).
There also have been requests to do more smooth terrains, for the more pixelated ones tend to make units less recognizable. I say pixelated for the terrain is made out of tiles that have 512x512 pixels - so even when doing larger terrain textures (and my sources all are in 512x512 right now), they will be shrinked to that size ingame automatically. You can achieve a little more detail that way, but it makes the mod way larger in size - especially compared to the result.
So - I can take a look at this, but I can't promise anything. :)
