DESCRIPTION

The H2 Lander Pod sports a fresh design and purpose — to land on planets in a more traditional way (think Apollo Lunar Module) via the use of Parachutes and Hydrogen Thrusters.

The pod is designed for survival PVP servers with a minimum 10x inventory multiplier. This mod replaces all stock respawn ships with three different variants of the H2 Lander Pod that spawn above the Earth-like, Mars-like, and Alien-like planets found in the default Star System scenario.

For alternate spawn locations I'm happy to provide custom versions of this mod on request.

INVENTORY

Oriented towards minimalism, the H2 Lander Pod comes stocked with all the materials required for starting out fresh without handing everything to the player on a silver platter.

Within the pod's inventory are enough components to build...

• 2x Solar Panel
• 3x Battery
• 1x Medical Room
• 1x O2/H2 Generator
• 1x Oxygen Tank
• 1x Refinery
• 1x Assembler
• 1x Small Cargo Container
• 5x Light Armor Block


CONSTRUCTION

The pod utilises two Batteries for power and is completely independent of Uranium. It incorporates all the standard blocks one would expect of a modern respawn ship, including O2/H2 Generator, Hydrogen Tank, Antenna, Remote Control, Camera (for first person landings), and Ore Detector.

A small quantity of Ice is supplied with the pod to give the player just enough time to track down new sources. Emergency player tools and O2 and H2 Bottles are also provided.

LANDING

The pod is designed to enter into a planet's gravity well and free fall with all thrusters turned off until reaching a set altitude.

The pod is fully capable of emergency landing via auto-deployed Parachutes, but should preferably be landed manually via Hydrogen Thrusters, with the following caveats...

Under vanilla speed settings the Hydrogen Thrusters should be turned on at 450m altitude. This will enable a safe landing with approximately 50-60% fuel remaining.

Using a speed mod they should be turned on at 5000m altitude, which will enable a safe landing with approximately 1% fuel remaining when using an unlimited speed mod (for better results use a speed mod rated below 350m/s).

For best results, limit the use of lateral thrusters until after a safe landing has been made. The Hydrogen Tank can be refueled via the O2/H2 Generator to enable the player to move to a better location once planetfall has been achieved.

Caution: These numbers are based on test landings on a standard Earth-like planet starting from an altitude of 15000m. The top speed achieved falling from this height with an unlimited speed mod was approximately 380m/s. Individual landing results may vary depending on the height of the landing surface, the gravity of the planet, the rating of any speed mod in use, and the top speed achieved.

Hi! Is it possible to make everyone on the crew spawn together on this pod, like a Crew, and 1 person as a pilot to land on a planet for the start on the survival mode?

The hand drill that you provide in the cockpit is bugged. You can't use it for some reason. Which is a bummer as I would like to have players spawn without tools.

Unless the game has been updated to change the Large Ship / Station Solar Panel components list to include Girders, then you're mistaken. Girders are required for Small Ship Solar Panels only.

You cant make solar panels without girders and these dont come with any... so are these solar panels invisable or something?
