LOCO Ravric Dawnstar - DH Train

UNORIGINAL CHEAP RIP OFF. :) (aside from the mechanics) But fully functioning.

A tribute to Ravric. Rebuilt from the ground up and uses DH Train Engineers mechanics, but has the Dawnstar freight train's body design.

It's scaled down (to fit on the small grid) with less power and cargo capacity than the original, but goes much, much faster. Like with the other trains I made, it's only suitable for creative mode, but it has connectors and linked cargo containers inside. It won't ever be a part of any train map I make (out of respect), but it (and its wagon) can be spawned in through the Blueprint menus and mounted to the track using the mounting tool.


Optionally, I've given the Dawnstar the ability to be driven from either of its ends if you put a locomotive on each end. This feature is the same as the Intercity 125 and London Underground, although the controls are on Tab 2 on the Cockpit hotbar:

Locomotives behave weirdly when being hauled as wagons if their wheels have too much friction, so the locomotive has two modes: Trailer Mode and Driving Mode.

In "Trailer Mode", Drive Wheel friction is set to 0%, wheel speed limits are reset. Switching between the modes is automatic (using timer blocks - I'm too stupid to learn how to program. :P)

1) When sitting in the cockpit, switch to hotbar Tab 2 and press { 1 } on the toolbar to go into Driving Mode (if it isn't already). You'll hear an alarm. Wait 30 seconds. You'll have to set the speed limit again using { 1 } and { 2 } back on hotbar Tab 1.

2) Activate Trailer Mode by pressing { 6 }.

3) Driving Wheel Group friction is displayed on buttons 3 and 4. If it's at 100% = Driving mode. 0% = Trailer mode. If it's not decreasing or increasing automatically, press either { 1 } or { 6 } (Tab 2) a second time. Spam { 3 } or { 4 } to increase or decrease the friction yourself if you don't want to wait.
