Description
All credit for this vessel goes to Aavak, all I did was retool the weapon systems for more bang per sec and rebuilt the AAA

Over all the vessel is much more deadly with very minor changes to the shape.

@adamsionprice1986 Thanks :) most of the weapon updates stick through my upgrade series for this craft. Though I rebuild the main AAA gun a few times and add a gun on the back. The Mk4 is metal clad and is my latest build.

I'm happy you approve Aavak :)

The Thunderling Mk2 has already been built ;) Its has some more tweeks to the main AAA gun, longer sustained fire, and a new rear auto cannon.

Sounds awesome, I may well start with the original design, then try to build something closer to what you describe here. As a bit of a personal goal I'll do it without looking at how you built yours, as I want to get better at building guns in general, but I really thank you for giving me the idea and motivation to try.

in the future though, I plan to accept a much higher level of community involvement with the campaign (community designs, either for modules for a ship, or whole ships, etc) so may well call on you for a submission as part of a Thunderling refit :)

The Main Cannon can fire for 46sec and takes about 22sec before it recycles. If you want constant fire you can set the firing delay to 3.78 that should do the trick.

I haven't run into any stuttering with the quad cannon so it is good to go.

The AAA can fire for about ~30sec 12 of its clips are belt fed but it also has 4 direct feed auto loaders so it should never stop for long. When it starts the main reloading cycle it fires in about 2-3 shot bursts.

So far in the campaign it's crushing it. I've paired it with two of my PT Boats and I’m also using the Mk2, same model as here it just has some light cladding. The biggest issue is it doesn't have any collision avoidance, it loves to try beaching itself.

Looks interesting, how long can it sustain fire with these increased fire rates?
