Description
March 2018 Update - this map is entirely new. Realistic terrain, true to life scale, up to date infrastructure build quality, no vanilla trees. More details and images to come.

Beech Tree and Blue Gum by Pdelmo required

March 2018 version Real Life Overlay! Here is the overlay of San Marino used to make the map https://imgur.com/a/bu2UT Use it with Overlayer v2 Mod.

You will notice that the roads and rail are not true to life (there are no major highways IRL), but this infrastructure has to be there for game play. I kept it to the very corners of the map, though.

-----------------------------

An entire country that fits within a 1:1 CS map? Yes! The world's oldest (A.D. 301) and smallest Republic is the setting for this exciting, challenging map, and is very close to the real location.
The first in a series of microstate maps that fit into a CS map,

--------------------------------------
original description, to be edited:

There are many, many water spawns, several of which have a deep well hidden visually. Although a stream might appear very small, if you place your water pump over one of these hidden wells, it will be drawing from a very deep section of the stream, hidden from view, but it's there. You can figure out where they are by using the water overlay view, then looking for where the blue of a stream gets much darker in a spot. Place your well right over it.

Although much of it is buildable, most of it is sloped like the real place.

25 tiles is recommended if you wish to spread out. This is a good map for a smaller city centers and many villages style. Of course, anything is possible, so have at it!

Hi DKHeath, a map can't do that, but there is a way to find out what is causing that issue. There are many, many things that can cause the array/null reference exception. This guide gives you the info you need to find out what that item is. I've had the problem from assets (cars, buidlings) before.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1191748287 Go to the section Errors, null reference is near the end of the section.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object [System.NullReferenceException]

Details:
No details I keep on getting this error for this map. It's the only map that I know of that does it. I have everything downloaded that it says I need. What could it be?

Awesome! Glad it will bring you some nostalgia :) I always wanted to visit, too, but never got close enough to do so.

Visited San Marino whilst on holiday in Rimini with my family back in about 1970 or 71.
Still remember it like it was last week.
Always wanted to go back to see if it has changed over the years but have never found the time.
Now I can visit whenever I want to.
Thank MrMiyagi for putting this map together.

Awesome! You can also use BloodyPenguin's Extra Landscaping Tools mod so that it is much faster to make terrain changes. Set the brush power to a low setting like .02 to .05 and you'll be able to make nice edits to mountains.

I've also been playing on this one... and man, the rough terrain is a pain to try to build a city on :D

Oh wow that's so much detail. Thank you for taking the time to explain everything going on here, especially the photo angles (I've never been remotely close to San Marino), I was expecting myself to have been doing something wrong with how I was loading it. I'll definitely be eagerly awaiting the new map, maybe I'll give some of your other maps a try in the mean time (assuming I just don't come back to this one anyways, I've been playing it a ton before I posted this)

Just know that it is 1) extremely ugly 2) has terrible road and rail because I was inexperienced, and we didn't have any of the mods nor the default highway snapping functions. We had to place the highways side by side *by eye* O.O. It also uses ugly default trees and I had no idea how to design back then :D https://www.dropbox.com/s/qbli8epybizekjr/San%20Marino.crp?dl=0
As you can guess, I'm really dedicated to this map, so the new map (coming estimated mid to later May) is going to knock your socks off (I hope). Maybe you'll want to play on something else til then. Happy building!:chirp:
