Hi DKHeath, a map can't do that, but there is a way to find out what is causing that issue. There are many, many things that can cause the array/null reference exception. This guide gives you the info you need to find out what that item is. I've had the problem from assets (cars, buidlings) before.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1191748287 Go to the section Errors, null reference is near the end of the section.
DKHeath 8 Jan, 2021 @ 2:48pm
Object reference not set to an instance of an object [System.NullReferenceException]

Details:
No details I keep on getting this error for this map. It's the only map that I know of that does it. I have everything downloaded that it says I need. What could it be?
MrMiyagi  [author] 11 Dec, 2019 @ 3:56am
I'd love to go there myself some day. Looks really amazing!

Awesome! Glad it will bring you some nostalgia :) I always wanted to visit, too, but never got close enough to do so.

Visited San Marino whilst on holiday in Rimini with my family back in about 1970 or 71.
Still remember it like it was last week.
Always wanted to go back to see if it has changed over the years but have never found the time.
Now I can visit whenever I want to.
Thank MrMiyagi for putting this map together.
MrMiyagi  [author] 22 Apr, 2018 @ 12:18pm
Awesome! You can also use BloodyPenguin's Extra Landscaping Tools mod so that it is much faster to make terrain changes. Set the brush power to a low setting like .02 to .05 and you'll be able to make nice edits to mountains.

I've also been playing on this one... and man, the rough terrain is a pain to try to build a city on :D
Heretek1914 22 Apr, 2018 @ 9:23am
Oh wow that's so much detail. Thank you for taking the time to explain everything going on here, especially the photo angles (I've never been remotely close to San Marino), I was expecting myself to have been doing something wrong with how I was loading it. I'll definitely be eagerly awaiting the new map, maybe I'll give some of your other maps a try in the mean time (assuming I just don't come back to this one anyways, I've been playing it a ton before I posted this)
MrMiyagi  [author] 22 Apr, 2018 @ 7:46am
Just know that it is 1) extremely ugly 2) has terrible road and rail because I was inexperienced, and we didn't have any of the mods nor the default highway snapping functions. We had to place the highways side by side *by eye* O.O. It also uses ugly default trees and I had no idea how to design back then :D https://www.dropbox.com/s/qbli8epybizekjr/San%20Marino.crp?dl=0
As you can guess, I'm really dedicated to this map, so the new map (coming estimated mid to later May) is going to knock your socks off (I hope). Maybe you'll want to play on something else til then. Happy building!:chirp:
MrMiyagi  [author] 22 Apr, 2018 @ 7:45am
I'm thinking of using Lost Gecko's Osahra Castle Walls and Towers - what do you think of those?
Elevation: the map you have actually has the same elevations as the original. The impressiveness of the view of San Marino's old city depends entirely on which direction you're looking. There's a reason why real life aerial photos are all taken from the NW or South ;) and in-game it also looks far more impressive once you start building on that top mountain. I'm building on it now and it still seems way too tall, but its elevations are correct so I'm gonna leave it alone. I'm giving you the original 2015 map just in case you want to have it... holy cow a third comment
MrMiyagi  [author] 22 Apr, 2018 @ 7:38am
Hi Heretek. I'll explain, sorry for all this detail :D. First, the elevations are actually still the same. More about that in next comment. There were no castles originally, since it was made in 2015 before we had all the mods that make it possible to include items like castles in maps. It is possible to place castles in maps now, and I'm actually in the middle of doing that - this castle included map will be published as a second, new San Marino map with tons of details and lots of different trees. This one here will remain as you've seen it - only two trees required. hat you've got your hands on is a basic update map. If you want to know when the new one comes out, just click "Mr Miyagi's Workshop" link in the tiny letters on the top of this page, and click follow. continued...
Heretek1914 22 Apr, 2018 @ 1:44am
The map I load up seems to be extremely flat and missing the castles/towers
MrMiyagi  [author] 19 Jan, 2018 @ 11:24am
I agree, this would be a great candidate for a remake with the trees we now have thanks to those two
Big Bad Nonja 19 Jan, 2018 @ 10:45am
Jamie > Question > Have you considered a re-do of this map, with flora changes?
I was thinking that Pdelmo would be a good choice, and/or MrMaison for making the right kinds of flora to match the Greece pic in the comparison pic above?
MrMiyagi  [author] 28 May, 2017 @ 11:02am
You're welcome! Glad it was fun for you!

I really enjoyed playing on this map a lot, thank you for the great map :)

@MrMiyagi: die Gema ist keine Regierungsagentur, zahlen muss man nur für kommerzielle Nutzung und das Geld geht nur an die Künstler ;-)
MrMiyagi  [author] 25 Jun, 2016 @ 9:02am
Everyone here is paranoid about that. Very sad.
MrMiyagi  [author] 25 Jun, 2016 @ 9:01am
I'm absolutely sure San Marino (or Spain or Monaco or Ireland etc etc) would not care. However, I live in Germany. They have quasi-government agencies that sue and fine people here who do things like play music without permission in public, even a little old lady dance party was fined, even though the original artists were dead or don't care. The money in fines goes to... guess where... that German government agency, not the artist XD So, maybe now you understand :D
Mirkus 25 Jun, 2016 @ 8:18am
i know what is san marino, is my country lol and nothing happens for a pic cmon xD
MrMiyagi  [author] 25 Jun, 2016 @ 7:57am
Riqw use the Unlimited Trees mod and on that mod's error options (found via the options menu) and select "replace tree" from the little drop down menu. Fixes it for all maps with custom trees experiencing this problem
MrMiyagi  [author] 25 Jun, 2016 @ 7:55am
Mirkus, each country has laws that regulate the use of their coat of arms. San Marino has an official state coat of arms that is legally only to be used by the government. The same is for Monaco. I live in the EU. I prefer not to get an interesting letter from an EU associated state in the mail. So, lol back.
Mirkus 18 Jun, 2016 @ 10:49am
the coat of arms is wrong lol
RIQW 25 Apr, 2016 @ 9:53am
Whenever I start the map I get this error (I have no mods activated):
Object reference not set to an instance of an object [System.NullReferenceException]

:D Not sure I want that job, but wait... President of San Marino? Hmm, sounds nice lol
IndianaBronx 28 Jan, 2016 @ 1:43pm
A very beautiful San Marino tribute!
Your maps are simply amazing!
MrMiyagi for president!
MrMiyagi  [author] 28 Jan, 2016 @ 1:16pm
Thanks khazan99! I think it's important, because as a player on a map we didn't make, everything is a giant mystery unless we open the map first in map editor mode to see where everything is (by the way, I release them for you to be able to do so, and to edit the too! Happy to let you all make them all your own!)
@TheJanzap, thanks! Liechtenstein is planned to be the map for the Snowfall DLC, and there are some awesome (I mean really awesome!) Alpine chalets that TomCat is making as a companion to the map, too. As soon as Snowfall comes out, we will adapt the map into the new DLC's biome and release them all. Stay tuned and sign up to follow me and/or Tomcat to be notified when they are published. His shop is here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/profiles/76561198083475061/myworkshopfiles/?appid=255710
TheJanzap 28 Jan, 2016 @ 12:59pm
@MrMiyagi Looks very nice already! Can't wait to try it out!
khazan99 28 Jan, 2016 @ 12:12pm
really appreciate the detailed description and information through the use of all those photos; well done!
MrMiyagi  [author] 28 Jan, 2016 @ 12:00pm
@TheJanzap, funny you should mention! It's the next micro-nation! Here is a sneak peek just for you, although it already looks improved from this image. This is a very, very early image https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=609279148
MrMiyagi  [author] 28 Jan, 2016 @ 11:58am
Hi, @SIRCRUXR it doesn't change any buildings at all. The ones I mentioned are only suggestions. WIth over 70,000 items in the workshop, it helps sometimes to share ideas and where to find them :D
@medopubb Ah, I blunder rail and road now and then. Not my strong suit. The earlier maps I made have pretty much a reliable blunder design feature :D
TheJanzap 28 Jan, 2016 @ 11:51am
Could you do Lichtenstein?
makor 28 Jan, 2016 @ 11:48am
i freaking loved that I didn't have to remake crazy-sloped highways and rails. Apart from a blunder with a rail bridge in one intersection, the rest was smooth and as it should be.

I'm expecting great stuff from you mrmiyagi, keep up the good work. Can't wait for monaco.
SIRCRUXR 27 Jan, 2016 @ 7:00pm
does this change all buildings for all regions> or just this one ?
MrMiyagi  [author] 27 Jan, 2016 @ 9:40am
The only drawback about Vatican is that it is absolutely miniscule. On a CS map it would be as big as a postage stamp :D It's only 0.44 km2, and a CS map is 18km x 18km. Andorra is a little big, so if it's done it might just be a valley. So Liechtenstein, Monaco, Macao and Hong Kong are in the running (although HK has been done several times, so might not do that one), Liechtenstein is basically done
spookeronis 27 Jan, 2016 @ 8:29am
Perhaps a Vatican map after Monaco? This is great, by the way :D
MrMiyagi  [author] 27 Jan, 2016 @ 8:06am
:) Your wish is my command! Although it might not be next, Monaco is planned as another Micronation for this series. It will require a LOT of hand work and very careful terrace making, but the way Monaco is set up on a steep hillside is basically the same concept as the central historic part of San Marino. Should be an interesting map
makor 27 Jan, 2016 @ 5:02am
more maks like this (y)

It is, isn't it? That tourist video sold me on it, without aven one word! At least we can build it, select a sim, enter first person mode, and get a tour of the virtual version of it :)
