Description
The Orbital Defense platform is a large station classification in the UNSC Navy. It is best suited to planetary defense, particularly over planets of great strategic importance.

History
No matter how inferior humans may look to the Covenant, there is one set of human structures that the Covenant will think twice about before approaching blindly. Or rather, they are afraid of the weapon on those structures. The ODP is built around the Mk. V "Super MAC" cannon, an immensely powerful, accurate and long ranged weapon capable of killing/crippling almost any Covenant ship with one shot, in spite of shields. The ODP can also reload, aim and fire again in about 5 seconds. However, the ODP is practically immobile, expensive, and should be protected at all costs.

Armament
Mk. V Super Magnetic Accelerator cannon, point defense turrets

Tactics
The Orbital Defense Platform is the UNSC's most powerful defensive asset. Assign these to groups above a planet and guard them with your fleet, taking care of small craft while the Mk. V destroys the bigger ships.

To use this ship: Access via antenna or the rear ejector, and remote control. It is a large remote controlled turret

feel free to mod the front bay in anyway you need. I can always move the lower turrets down one block, so you can get a 3X3 round to work with.

What I really wish I could do was make the round shoot straight like a bullet, instead of having the rod wobble and turn. The best way to make these things with is to use a cannonball-esque round design. I'll work on something better, though.

I'm a dumbass.. If I use the latest Dev version, it all works fine..no issues. I was on a very old build. for some reason my copy wasnt updating. that explains the exploding ships. Thank-you very much for helping me build a mac cannon into this beauty. The front bay has six merge blocks for the mac round, welders and grav generators. AI core(Programable blocks) are on the top deck by the top airlock, and use the timer blocks on the bridge. They are empty. The projectors on the wall behind the hyperdrive are for the MAC rounds. Feel free to make a few different rounds if you like.

Do you use an old rotor mod like the old ring rotors? Those things explode and do more damage than a freakin' warhead now.

ok. thanx. I was only able to get it working without blowing up by using the orginal map and deleteing all the unneeded mods. Do you have any idea why it would explode at a speed of 70 under normal operation? All my old builds are doing this

Much more doable, I use more mods than that for Halo ships. I'll work on it when I get home.

ok, I was able to get it transfered to its own map with only the core 26 mods needed.
