Increased Cover Bonus

Description
This mod makes cover and flanking more important by increasing the defense bonus of low and high cover.

Low cover is increased to 30 from the original value of 20. High cover up to 45 from 40.

The new cover values effect both the player and the enemies. My hunch is that the player can adapt to the changes better than the AI can but in my testing so far the AI has handled the change surprisingly well. It seems to be prioritizing flanking more.

These values are inspired by Long War, but given the different aim escalation in XCOM 2 and that I don't yet know how to add damage reduction to cover like Long War does, I may bump high cover all the way to 50 in the meantime. Let me know what you think. Update: I have cover DR working for regular shots, but not for grenades yet, so I haven't updated the public mod.

Be aware that saved games made with any mod installed require that mod to be installed to load.

Sadly this mod doesn't seem to have a continuation, meaning the LW dmg reduction.

Been trying to make a more long war like experience, very pleased to find this mod that makes cover values more LW esq!

have you thought of following the long war system? and low cover 25 and high cover 40?

I think if it's flat it then it's very important early game, and not that important late game, so I think I'm going with percentages. Maybe 10% 20% but not set.

These values will editable in the .INI, including different DR for grenades and a flat DR version option too.

Not sure if that reduction is pre or post armor reduction yet. Pre armor reduction make it more powerful since the percentage comes off the higher number. I think this might be too good but it's pretty easy to shred armor in this game so maybe not.

How does the damage reduction work? Is it a flat amount based on the type of cover or is it a percentage or even something entirely differently?
