Realistic City Map
Cardiff is the capital of Wales (part of UK). The map was created using the maps4cim software and is intended to be as realistic as possible within the limitations of CIM2. I’ve tried to follow the zoning of the city as best I can (as a non resident) relying on Google Earth as a guide.

Cardiff is located on the coast in South Wales and was once an important port for exporting vast amounts of coal mined in the south Wales coalfield located in the valleys to north of the city. Coal production finally ceased a few years ago. Cardiff is now an important commercial centre with workers from the former mining areas commuting into the city from the surrounding area, many on the railways that once carried coal to the docks.
Cardiff still has an extensive railway network; the lines originally built to carry coal from the mines in the valleys to the north now carry commuters to work in Cardiff. The rail lines are usable as metro lines in CIM2 as they are largely grade separated. (very few level crossings).

It is strongly recommended that ‘city growth’ is disabled when playing this map. (The map has large areas of green parkland with pedestrian paths that will be populated with inappropriate buildings if growth is enabled.)

The map utilises the narrow footpaths created with CIM2patchplus and Bundle patches created by eis_os.
