NOTE: The kill zone no reaction penalty while concealment feature is broken. So this mod alone will do nothing without additional configuration, only the OldKillZone feature (default is turned off) is working.

As of March 10, the new patch makes killzone no longer activate enemies on concealment, and is only available as an ambush tool to activate during your turn, but unlike normal ambush overwatches, killzone still suffers overwatch penalty like overwatches not in concealment, this mod changes that so killzone now also no longer suffers overwatch penalty if used as an ambush.

WARNING: As any XCOM 2 mods do, saving a game with a mod enabled will cause the save game only work if and only if the mod is enabled, since this mod replaces behaviours that only affect current session, there should be no problem disabling this mod, if you want to disable it, you will need https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=619141883

Nice to see you again, I'd say just make it WotC only. The expansion's getting a 90% discount pretty regularly these days.

Thanks for figuring out the bug. Unfortunately my old PC with the old dev tools is dead and I don't quite want to redownload 60+GB just to update this one. Is there even people using non-WOTC version here? If not I can update it to WOTC only.

I can see why KillZoneNotReactionWhileConcealed doesn't work, the ignore reaction penalty effect is added to the TARGET instead of shooter.

OldKillZone should work as advertised, though. It makes you break concealment to take the shot instead of waiting for concealment breaking from something else.

So I tested this mod and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working. Using Killzone while in concealment still has overwatch penalty.

@Dragon32 just tested OldKillZone as True and as False and you can activate Kill Zone while concealed regardless. I guess I'll just keep the .ini as default like you because I'm not sure what changing it does. Thanks again

Oh, OK. Thought you meant Reddit or somewhere.

I'm no expert on UnrealScript but looking at the .u there seem to be 2 conditions. There's some code that's only run if OldKillZone is True and some code only run if KillZoneNotReactionWhileConcealed is True

So, with an unaltered XComGame.ini this mod will do something.

I assume KillZoneNotReactionWhileConcealed controls "killzone now also no longer suffers overwatch penalty if used as an ambush" and OldKillZone allows the ability to activate from concealment, as it used to way back when. IIRC, it was a hugely OP and fun opener.
