MORE SHIPNAMES MOD


In the spirit of the upcoming naval DLC, I've finally gotten around to publishing my additional shipnames mod.

This is a mod adding well over 5000 shipnames for the major maritime nations of EU4. Apart from Norway's and Louisiana's, they are all historical, and have been gathered from various ship ledgers describing ships in active service during the timeframe of the game.

If anyone would like to use these names in their own mods, feel free to do so, just remember to give credit where credit is due.


NB: Due to this mod altering the country-files, it is unfortunately not standard Multiplayer or "Achiement Ironman" compatible.

The number of added shipnames goes as following:

Denmark: 458
Sweden: 528
Spain/Castille: 604
Portugal: 242
Genova: 52
Venice: 288
Naples: 104
Papal States: 48
Savoy/Sardinia Piedemont: 41
Norway: 355 (Fantasy)
England/UK: 614
Ottomans: 295
Scotland: 79
Holland/Netherlands: 284
France: 497
Italy: 451 (All the other Italian shipnames gathered together)
Russia/Muscovy/Novgorod: 308
Brandenburg/Prussia: 120
Curonia: 50
The Hansa Cities (Lübeck, Danzig, Bremen and Hamburg): 76
Louisiana: 77 (Fantasy)
USA: 180
Polish/Commonwealth: 29
Mamluks: 40
Germany/HRE: 260 (All the other German shipnames gathered together)
Byzantines/Greece/Trabzon: 807 (Fantasy)
Japan: 382 (Historical, but slightly anachronistic post-Meji names)

How could this be made dynamic. so the game, the longer it goes on for, will create more names. Like names from conquered provinces, advisors, rulers, heirs, admirals, generals etc.

Texas names would be great, you can play them from April 1836 in ET, they're absorbed by the US in 1846 if you look for them after that and they're not there

Anyone know how to set the title picture on a mod? When I try it just leaves it blank.

@Deutschbag If you look down at the comments Hamaja said "Do whatever you will, honestly. As long as you give me credit for my work, I'm happy. I don't think this mod is going to be updated much more anyways. :)" when asked if someone could use this mod for their mod. I think you should be OK as long as you give due credit.
