Btw, since people asked, the landing gears in the video do look modded, but that is due to a graphics mod on DA's machine which replaces the landing gear model but does not affect function. The blocks in this build are 100% vanilla.

Summary

The Pathfinder is Stargazers mobile planetary base and can be seen spearheading research, exploration and mining operations all across Stargazer controlled territory.

It was developed with the goal to create a more wholesome approach to a mobile base that offers more utility than just production equipment and the ability to move around.

In addition to the usual functionality of a mobile base the Pathfinder also acts as a land-aircraft-carrier with multiple landing pads and an internal garage and as a mining vehicle due to the hinged mining rig tower that can excavate up to 60m deep into the ground.

This allows you to to just park the vehicle above an ore patch, activate the drill and work on some other projects you brought along. Once the excavation is finished you will be notified with a beacon and you can move the vehicle over to the next ore patch.

Weapons: 4 Gatling Turrets, Missile Turret, 7 Interior Turrets (as Spider/Cyberhound defence along the underside)

Uses Automated LCD screens by MMaster


Tips For First Time Use

  • If the base starts rolling off, go into one of the control stations on the bridge and press 4 to lower the Landing Gear brake

  • The handbrake is enabled from the start. If you want to deactivate it, don't use 'p' as it will also unlock all connectors (unless that's what you want). Use "1" in the first control tab of any cockpit

  • Do not engage the Landing Gear Brake when faster than 10 km/h.

  • Before you start driving always check if all smaller craft are attached to the base with their landing gear. The connectors alone won't be enough to hold them. Pressing "6" in the first control tab triggers a script that willl locate all landing gears on the build and lock them automatically.

  • In order to avoid having your command interface clogged it is generally advisable to unlock the connectors of all smaller craft once they are attached with landing gear and only attach the connector if you want to transfer items or charge batteries.


Control Setup (all driver seats)

Tab 1 (Driving):
  1. Handbrake On/Off (Mostly useless for such a heavy vehicle)
  2. Boosters On/Off
  3. Emergency Gyros On/Off
  4. Toggles Landing Gears that lower down and lock onto the floor for secure brake)
  5. Base Lights On/Off
  6. Script that locks all Landing Gears on the build (to secure all smaller craft before driving)
  7. Toggle Front Ramp
  8. Toggle Stairs
  9. Add Wheels (In case you hit a tree and lost one)

Tab 2: (Drilling+Defensive Weapons)
  1. Raise/Lower Mining Rig Tower (Blocked while drill extended
  2. Start Drilling (The Drill will unlock, excavate to maximum extension, then return and relock; Blocked while tower in horizontal position
  3. Retract Drill (Cancels drilling before you reach maximum extension, relocks drill)
  4. Toggle Landing Gear Brake (same as in Tab 1)
  5. Toggle Sorter that moves stone to the throw-out mechanism
  6. - empty -
  7. Interior Turrets On/Off (along the underside for Cyberhound/ Spider defense)
  8. Missile Turret On/Off
  9. Gatling Turrets On/Off

so, in the "Timer block-Lower Brakes" setup actions menu. slot number 7 show a grayed out action. do you know what should go there?

when i try to get the ground transport out though, it doesnt move and instead slides? how do i stop it and make it drive normally?

tried copy and pasting one of the small miners. game crashed again after trying to access the cockpit.
