so, in the "Timer block-Lower Brakes" setup actions menu. slot number 7 show a grayed out action. do you know what should go there?

when i try to get the ground transport out though, it doesnt move and instead slides? how do i stop it and make it drive normally?

found the problem. something about the original cockpit was causing the crash. so i replaced it with a new one.

I'm pretty sure that triggering the retract-timer would trigger the "retract" method of the programmable block. This would then set the pistons to retract and start the retract-timer again to repeat the whole process after 1s. Each cycle the PB checks if all pistons are fully retracted, and once they are, it locks the landing gears and ends the cycle.

I'm not 100% sure though, it's been ages since I wrote the code and I can't check ingame right now.

also, the Rig Retract timer block won't work,and i haven't been able to figure out how to fix it. how did you set it up the first time?

yes, i did disconnect them. made sure that the connector and landing gear were disconnected.
also, i was having some difficulty with getting the lcd's working after i accidentally prevented the PB from being welded up. after running through some troubleshooting, and looking at the guide. i noticed the lines of code in the lcd names. so i copied and pasted them into the custom data and everything started working again.
I'll probably try copy and paste on the little miners to see if i can control one that way.

@big_blue_4101 I'm pretty sure back when I made this the Custom Data property didn't exist yet.
As for the mining drones, I have no idea what's causing that. Have you checked if the problem persists if you undock them from the rover manually and enter afterwards?

Apart from that my suggestion would be to contact space engineers support.

also, i'm having trouble using your little mining ship drones. the game keeps crashing whenever i try to get in one. and i can control them through the RC. Advice?

in the lcd screen names are the lines of code to get them to work. just copy and paste them into the custom data.

How do you get the parts attached by pistons to apear. No ramp or drill in survival mode. Not to mention no attached vehicles incluided. might have to make them seperate Blueprints with this games reacuring bug with projectors.

Great and well thought base I think. One of my favorite ones, regardless its lifespan is usually pretty short due to piston/rotor fighting The Clang. But it's not the problem of the build but game.

The problem is that the parts you still need to add (aka the drill) have more than a dozen blocks that need to be tied into the timers and programming of the rest of the craft. The best way you can probably finish your project is by either placing a creative version next to it and copying the missing stuff block by block, or by just "cheating" in a finished version with space master and then deleting the version you have build so the resources add up.

Sorry that I can't be any better help here. The problem of building rotor/ piston rich builds from blueprints is a long standing issue with this game.

So you can't use it in survival? Is that going to change? If not could you post a video or somthing that tells how to add the other peices onto it? It just realy sucks that I am almost done building only to relize the most vital parts are missing.

@Sevrick: You can't build connected grids with a projector. The game just doesn't allow it.

If you paste it in creative, make sure all the bounding boxes are completely outside the terrain, otherwise the vehicle will be pasted as a station which causes all connected grids to end up in the wrong positions.

The best way to spawn this is to look for a sufficiently even surface and place the vehicle a few meters above the ground. It should be able to handle the drop.

I'd also like to say (Opps forgot this) I really love the design. Amazing to walk through, instantly visable that this is a functioning work of art. If I was going for a Engineering degree and made this I'd hand it in as a thesis.

In survival after a bit of drilling with no issues I get some slight damage to the rig and then catastrophic failure (had the pistion boom itself jump out of the top! fun to watch) has anyone had any luck with shields or better preventive maintenance to keep it running?

Or alternatly have I just been really unlucky/doing something wrong outside of "Its not designed for survival"

@Donut 5626 It's mostly a question of Weight/Wheels. Apart from that the suspension settings are very important so all the wheels stay on the ground when driving across uneven terrain.

I was firstly searching for an cheap-ass mining rig which doesnt fly, i didnt feel like flying and mining. I couldn't find this fast, so i went to an better base of operations first. I was looking for flying types mostly (not sure why), until i finaly opened the workshop. I noticed the image of this one on the workshop, so i clicked it open. First thing after opening: i was amazed. I actually just started a new world and build only an mining ship after landing so far. Now im trying to get materials for a mod so it will build the vehicle for me (dont want to mis anything), after that first thing i'm gonna build is this. If only i did already know what the components requirements are, it would be a lot easier to get this thing running :).

And ofcourse, ive tested it in an creative world. It works perfect!

i drove off a cliff still worked though
