It would be a shame to have this become a scenario that just sits deprecated in the Community Scenario pack not working.
Do you think you might ever take a look at this and make sure it's running ok in the latest version and putting the update in the Community Scenario pack thread on the Matrix forums so others can enjoy it in the futre?
-ROE: allow targets of opportunity
-WRA: reduce max engagement range for most types of air targets to 10 miles; reduce number of missiles per target/number of batteries per target.
The other thing I did was to give all of the SA-2 batteries some additional ammo.
By default, they launch more missiles (3 per launch) at ranges where they're easily evaded by aircraft without needing player interference. By reducing the engagement range, dropping the number of missiles launched per attack, and increasing the number of missiles carried - I made the SA-2s more persistent and more likely to actually hit.
I'm closing up to 18:00 in the scenario and it's been one heck of a ride.
Had the AIM-9C been workable, it wouldn't be much of a problem though.
This is partially on the devs side also.
Looking forward to the update. :)
The main problems, actually, have mostly got to do with the updates to CMANO itself since I made the scenario - which isn't the devs' fault, but there's certain thing (like aircraft damage, AI and sensor tweaks) which changed the balance, and certain fixes to scripting issues that were there before (and workarounds were used in this scenario which are no longer needed/no longer work).
But yes, a re-done version of this scenario with a lot of updates and new features is coming sometime in the next few weeks! I'm not sure yet if I'll be able to make it for both CMANO and the new CMO, but I'm hoping most people hop over onto the new version anyway :)
I've already killed 12 PNVAF fighters and there's still DOZENS ( ;) ) swarming over my every mission.
That's nowhere close to how they operated. They barely had that many airplanes working at a time.
It makes the scenario very hard, I get it but it's a tad much now.
With the AIM-9C bugged to hell (will not acquire target nor fire in any way) and the AIM-9B barely ever being fired (engagements fought too low) it makes this wonderfull and fascinating scenario all that more hard.
I'm really amazed at the work you must have put into this. It's the best scenario I've ever fount in CMANO up to this day.
I love it but the MiGs are way too much I think.
