Compatibility: Stellaris 2.3.3

Surprise! Yes, I finally purchased all the missing DLC, fell behind again, purchased the new ♥♥♥♥ again, and finally took the time to figure out how to update everything proper to get it working again in the current version of Stellaris. The descriptions below this message are probably still outdated*, so I'll get to that later. In the mean time, it works just like before, if not better, since the name list works with genders now. I had to remove the custom traits and use some similar ones in the base game for now. Also their custom description will be put back in soon as well.

Current Mod Additions:
  • Adds prescripted Pubic Crab Empire to game.
    (Pediculosis Pubis Directorate)
  • Adds a significant amount of Custom Names for Troops, Ships, Fleets, Stations, Planets and Leaders.
  • Custom intro text when starting a new game.
  • Auto generated empire rules based on the pubic crabs.
    (More passive militarily, highly agressive colonizers)
  • Custom AI personality type for prescripted empire.
    (should also be tied to auto generated versions)
  • Custom traits for the Pubic Crab Empire (Removed as of 1.6 - Will be coming back.)

As the human civilization made the leap to the stars, they unwittingly took some unwelcome visitors along with them. It is said that long ago there was a fleet of contaminated colony ships carrying civilians from the Jersey Shore area, destined to the far reaches of space.

During their journey, they had a catastrophic incident involving the leak of hormone laced liquids into the colonist chambers, where thousands of civilians lay dormant awaiting reanimation upon arrival at their new homes. These substances came into contact with the hitchhiking residents, accelerating their evolution significantly, an effect magnified by their previously short life cycles While their hosts lay dormant, the crabs were not affected by the mechanisms that kept the Jersians asleep in their chambers, causing the evolutionary process to occur when no one was the wiser.

The events proceeding are unclear at best, but what is known for sure that from these distant reaches of space, emerged the Pubic Crab Empire, ready to spread to the stars with a burning persistence.

It is also unknown of whatever happened to the Jersey Shore colony ships as unfortunately long range communications were never installed in the vessels. Data archives still show the engineering logs as “pending approval”.

There is an alternate theory told by some alien races that the Pubic Crab Empire was born out of science project gone awry. The story goes that an alien race observing mankind in its early space era initiated an uplift project centered on the Jersey Shore area and a failsafe switch in the programming combined with a lack of additional specific parameters set, auto-defaulted the project to the most intelligent lifeforms present in the targeted area.

While some notable humans have written off these stories as aliens being “cheeky” with them, the United Nations has declared both histories as “equally plausible”.

About the Pubic Crab Empire
The primary method of spreading Pubic Crabs is via hyperspace lane contact.

Empire Traits:
  • Fanatic Xenophiles: They love meeting new people! Won’t you accept their migration treaty?
  • Materialist: Always ever creative, the Pubic Crabs are experts at finding new ways to expand their empire.

Government - Oligarch
Pubic Crab reigns are long, while not until death, they do have a tendency to get rooted in to their positions of leadership. In addition, they are always surveying multiple options to further their expansion.

Racial Traits:
*Custom traits not in-game yet, pending re-make for 2.3.3
  • Tropical Preference: Hot, humid, wet, these are the places the Crab Empire thrives. Take a trip to paradise and bring some back with you!
  • Burning Sensation (custom): Despite their adorable appearances, Pubic Crabs have been known to cause varying degrees of irritation in other races.
  • -2% happiness for other species living with a Pubic Crab. (additive, per crab). - 1 Max Embassies
  • Pubic Pestilence (custom): Incredibly fast breeders, Pubic Crabs must be kept in check at all times.
  • +22.5% Pop growth rate.
  • Spreads Like Wildfire (custom): Highly adept at spreading to new areas.
  • -25% to Colony Ship build cost, +15% research speed to New Worlds tech.

Flag Symbol – The Fine Tooth Comb
The Pubic Crab flag represents their peoples past struggles, displaying the visage of their once arch enemy whom they have since evolved to overcome and now stand triumphant.

AI Empire Weapon Preference – Energy Weapons
Once a tool used by their oppressors to burn their homes and villages to the ground in an effort to leave them nowhere to seek shelter, the Pubic Crabs have repurposed this tool into an even more deadly weapon to deliver the same fate to their enemies.

I'll probably do some additional tweaking over time but as it currently stands, they are a slightly more aggresive version of the "expansionist" personality type.

Psst! You can still make this empire prefer Energy Weapons despite it being taken out of the Custom Empire screen. Personalities not only allow you to do this, but they also let you set what percentage of shields, armor, and hulls they desire.

P.S. Thanks to Synthetic Dawn, Mecha Pubis is also already a thing on my pc, will very likely get that up as another mod in the near future.
