honestly that colour should be changed ^^
also would like a less extreme version of this; this is kinda ruining any immersion you could have, even if it is nice to be able to identify em easily :P
1) Find the "packages" folder in your RWR directory. (For me, its "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RunningWithRifles\media\packages")
2) Navigate to the folders "classic", then "factions". Here there are several files. Amongst them are Green, Brown, and Grey. All .XML files.
3) Right Click the .XML corresponding to the color you want to change (I changed Brown, so it was brown.xml), and select "edit" (you could also just open this file in notepad).
5) File >>> Save As. In the "save as type" field, drag down to "All Files" then name the file brown.XML (or whatever faction you decided to change) and save it. It'll ask if you want to overwrite. yes, you do. (always back up the original!)
6) Repeat Step 1-5, except begin step 2 by navigating to the folders "vanilla", then "factions" instead of "classic" then "factions"
7) Enjoy RWR with brown text replaced by blue. Worked with my existing saved vanilla campaign.
Note: The color values you are changing are Red, green, and blue values, in that order. its a percentage value where .1 is 10% and 1 is 100%. you can change the color to whatever you'd like by tweaking these values.
I heard from some players that it worked out for them.
I really don't have much time myself to also care about this mod, but I might spend some time on it in case the Windows 10 color blind mode doesn't help you. But try it out first.
• Go to Settings / Ease of Access / Color and High Contrast
And as I said already, feel free to jump on Discord to tell about it in the #modding channel
I suppose I could just make a tool for automating the change of colors and release that if you guys have no plans of doing something.
I just haven't been able to enjoy the DLC because I can't tell the difference between each side.
