The MP9 MechTech is primarily based on the BattleTech game franchise, most popular and recognized in the 80's. It was initially a boardgame, but eventually turned into the MechWarrior game franchise with it's own universe.
The patterns and color scheme used are reminiscent of paint on battle-worn 'Mechs. You will find the progress and inspiration art under the links. Intended to be a mil-spec per Polycount rules - made for the Polycount contest. Check out other entries here. [polycount.com]

Yellow, blocky letters spell out... "MechTech". Accompanying the black base coating, is worn rubber, painted green, yellow and white. It's the first one you've seen. "It sure looks ancient.", you think to yourself, before dropping the weapon. You continue your journey across the barren, dead wasteland.
