Sol Unleashed Lite

Description
(Compatible with Stellaris v 1.9.1)

It's Back: Let's conquer a real small galaxy again!

This is the sister mod to Sol Unleashed, which is available here:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=698028895

This Lite version is intended for those who want to play in smaller galaxies than are possible with Sol Unleashed.

Following update 1.7 or 1.8 last year, this mod stopped working, and I have been struggling to find time to fix it. I have finally managed to fix it, but in the process I had to rebuild the mod from the ground up, omitting some of the features it used to have, and returning to its core: the mod is for people who want to start on Sol and play in a galaxy with familiar star systems in the neighborhood.

How To Use
- Select the race you want to play with (usually a human race, since you'll be starting on Sol).
- Edit the race: select Homeworld, Name & Class
- Select the Starting Solar System called 'Sol Unleashed Lite', and you're good to go.

Features

An expanded Sol System
All eight planets of the solar system plus Pluto and Eris.
Mars moons Phobos and Deimos added.
Saturn moons Tethys, Dione, Rhea and Iapetus added.
Uranus moons Ariel, Umbriel, Titania and Oberon added.
Pluto moon Charon added.

(Want something else added to the solar system? Put in a request in the comments.)

Real Star Names
Sol will be surrounded by around 100 real stars from the Milky Way galaxy.
Stars are positioned in their correct order of increasing distance from Sol.
Stars have the correct class (within the constraints of vanilla star classes).
Stars have relatively the correct diameters.
Detailed design of 17 systems near to Sol, including binary and trinary systems (thanks to Lex Peregrine for the ideas and designs for many of these systems).

(Want your favourite star system added to the galaxy? Put in a request in the comments!)

************************************

If anyone finds any bugs; has any suggestions for changes/improvements; or wants to see particular star systems in the mod, please let me know.

Compatibility:

It goes without saying that this mod is incompatible with its sister mod, Sol Unleashed - Lite, so you must pick one or the other.

This mod changes the galaxy size start up options, so it will likely be incompatible with mods that change these, such as Galaxies Unlimited. The mod supports galaxy sizes up to 2000 systems. I could add further sizes, if there's a demand.

The mod specifically changes the following file and may be incompatible with other mods that also change these files:

00_random_names.txt

There is a small change to station orbit distance in a 'defines' file which might cause incompatibility with mods that change the system scale. If you find incompatibilities that you would like me to try to fix, let me know and I will take a look.

If you find incompatibilities that you would like me to try to fix, let me know and I will take a look.

Terms of use in other mods:

You may use this mod in other mods provided you credit me. I would also be grateful if you would tell me that you're using my mod, in the comments below.

Credits:
Lex Peregrine for some features in the design of the systems: Barnard's Star, Sirius, Epsilon Eridani, Procyon, Alpha Centauri and Epsilon Indi.
Robert Hurt for the galaxy pic.

Note that I have now got the mod working again, although you can only use it to start at the Sol system. In particular the feature to start on Deneb, or on a system distant from Sol have been removed (or more precisely, they haven't been put back in, as I have rebuilt the mod). If I see a particular demand for these features I will try to find time to put them back in.

Anyway, the basic part of the mod should be working again. If you have any problems with it, let me know.

That's fair enough

My apologies: some personal stuff is interfering with my ability to update the mod :-(

Any chance for an update to 1.8? Currently it only loads Mercury, Venus and Earth then the asteroid belt. Nothing else in the system and the sorrounding stars are all random. Earth has no building except for a capital building which sits on a food tile rather then a energy tile. If you're already updating then sorry for bothering you

I dont think anything else could change them, they spawned on "Sol III" with olds traits

That's weird, as the mod doesn't change the human traits at all. I'll take a look, but are you sure something else isn't changing them?

(I assume you mean while playing the humans, although that shouldn't affect things either.)

Can you change human traits so they match these from Paradox? I found earth and they are fast learners and nomadic.

Hopefully the negative food situation has been solved. Haven't added a lab, as I'm not sure I like that at game start. However, I have made Unity size 18, and have randomised the starting size of Earth to be 18-25 tiles.

Ok, I will take a look at this soon. Thanks for the report.

hi, love the mod, just point out some little mistake that is the starting planet miss farm and lab compares to vanilla, you will get -2 food at the beginning. And size for unity should be 18.
