BM Alternative Miscast

Description
Issues with AI Wizards blowing themselves up? Well, now miscasting no longer causes damage but instead knocks everyone down around the wizard causing massive disruption.

Compatible with:
- Grand Campaign - Single Player and Coop
- All DLC
- Saved Games
- Custom Battles
- This updated the "projectiles_explosions" table, and therefore may not be compatible with other MODs that do so

I added this as a public MOD as I wanted to give others the opportunity of using it in case you are just as annoyed as my friends and I are with the AI constantly overcasting and killing themselves. When fighting Vampire Counts, this was really sad, as it meant such actions would singlehandedly lose them the fight.

With that, this MOD makes it so miscasts can still occur just as they did before. The difference, no damage is taken when a wizard miscasts but any units within a decent radius around them are knocked down, excluding cavalry, flying units and some very big units (looking at you Arachnarok Spider). With that said, it does knock down troll sized creatures, giants and varghulfs if close enough.

This MOD also means your wizards will not take damage when miscasting. So that will create a bit of a balancing issue for some already OP spells (*cough* Spirit Leech *cough*).

Also, the following are some details on how I went about making the MOD in case anyone wants to make their own or a variant of the MOD:

1) I first watched a great tutorial by the individual who created the "Legendary Lords Unique Start Positions" MOD found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtoD9TcjuBI and downloaded the "Total War packfilemanager" by googling "Total War packfilemanager" and finding the most legitimate one to download.

2) I then had to hunt down the file that dealt with miscasting… which is called “projectiles_explosions”

3) I then changed “detonation_damage” and “detonation_damage_ap” to 0 for every miscast Record so that no damage was taken. I even changed the miscast Record “wh_main_generic_miscast” even though it did not seem to be associated with any particular magic section, just in case a patch, update, DLC or the like causes it to be used. Also, prior to "The Grim and the Grave" DLC, Vampiric magic did not have its own miscast Record, it used “wh_main_death_miscast”. Now that the "The Grim and the Grave" DLC has been added their is a Vampiric miscast table Record called "wh_main_vampires_miscast", but when tested it did not seem to effect miscasting with Vampiric magic. Either way, the "wh_main_vampires_miscast" Record has been updated to match the other miscast tables, just in case their is a patch that does make Vampiric magic use the "wh_main_vampires_miscast" Record for miscasting instead of "wh_main_death_miscast”.

4) I then changed “detonation_duration” to 0 as I could not find a noticeable difference when changing it. Then, I played around with “detonation_radius” (gave value of 50) and “detonation_speed” (gave value of 300) until I found values that seemed to give me the radius I wanted the explosion to be. To note, I am not sure exactly what the relationship is between “detonation_radius” and “detonation_speed” but “detonation_speed” actually seemed to have a much greater effect. Although, “detonation_radius” did have to be increased as a value of 0 made no explosion and a low values seemed to limit the area as well.

Let the undead hordes rise. The enemies corpses will make fine additions, to my army.

@2012grievesj yeah, definitely a good observation. And thanks, I will do my best to respond back and provide any necessary updates.

It's fine about late responses. It was just me making an observation. But at least you did respond. More than some mod creators do so keep it up.

@2012grievesj sorry for the slow response, I did not get a notification that you posted a comment. So, although it will not kill anyone, you definitely can use your wizard to make everyone around you go flying, friendlies and enemies alike if you miscast. So, it definitely is possible.

Also, although I really dislike when the AI wizards decide they need to be in combat, I actually find it pretty awesome when, at that moment, they do miscast and it turns your entire front line into a chaotic mess of soldiers everywhere :)

So , could you use this plus overcasting debuffs to turn your wizards into kamikaze
