Alright ye folks, after Bretonnia comes out right and proper on 28th of this month, I'll play and see how their new units handle, I do like the Chivalry mechanic and peasant for farm/war thing. That being said, seeing Louen starts with a unit of Grail Knights puts a thorn in my side as they are in this mod, that'd be inexplicably OP in the early game. Depending on how Bretonnia handles itself with its new units, I'll update this with the entire roster touched in a lorey way. We'll see how it turns out. So far from what I saw, grails have been buffed nicely by getting the blessing and not getting tired with a bonus against large to boot.

Still, on medium unit sizes KOTR have 4500 HP on 30 models and Grail Knights have 4600 with 30 models. That is still obnoxious to me, both in terms of how many GKs there are in a unit (30 in medium means 60 in ultra) as well as how little of an upgrade they are over KOTR and Questers. I expect many people will drop this after official release which is fine, but I'll keep it up to date regardless for anyone who might still wish to use it.

I did changes to the basic Bretonnian units, and any mods that alter the same units in any way will be more or less incompatible with this.

I'll put the stat changes for units that were altered in the screenshots.

Units that were altered

-Grail Knights: (They attack slightly faster, and hit multiple opponents *2-3* opponents) Massive health buff, numbers reduced 60 --> 24, Now requires Smithly level 2 to recruit them. They take 3 turns to recruit.

(For a comperative view, 1 Grail Knight unit lost decisively to 1 Demigryph unit in vanilla, now a grail knight unit will win against a Demigryph unit with roughly 50% of its HP remaining. That is without any veterancy involved.)

NOTE: If there are complaints about them being too strong, I'll put a campaign cap for them. However I'll not nerf their statline. If you see a unit of these in the opposition, you should be re-considering whether or not you want to fight that battle. Or if you have them on your side, they should give you confidence.

-Knights of the Realm: Modest Raise in health, buff to melee attack/defense.

-Pegasus Knights: A slight buff to their health, slight buff to their damage.

-Peasant Bowmen: Numbers increased 90 --> 120, reduced health of individual models to balance for their numerical superiority.

-Men at Arms (Polearm): Numbers increased 120 --> 150

-Spearmen at Arms: Numbers increased 120 --> 150, Also buffed their health a little bit to have any reason to recruit them instead of the Polearms. (AKA, Spearmen are now better at catching arrows with their faces than Polearms.)

I was inspired by Cataph's TT units mod, I highly recommend grabbing his mod.

I also lowered the Peasant upkeep for the mentioned peasant units.

Is there an update to this mod? I really like how that stats are for the Grail Knights in this version better.

Did this with ultra unit sizes in mind, unless it is caused by some other mod conflict, each grail knight should have about 424 HP. So if your grail knight unit has 3 members innit, that is why.

If not, then you've got a mod that alters the Grail Knight Entry in the land_units_tables, this is also the table that governs unit animations so if you have a mod that disables grail knight's flaming lances, that probably conflicts with this.

for some reason on normal battle size grail knights only have 1272 hp
