SMG Rapid Fire

Description
Using a SMG confers the user the Rapid Fire perk. Of all the multi-fire options it seemed the most appropriate.

This mod simply looks through your stuff and finds the 4 SMG templates (3 from the base SMG mod and the Laser one). It then adds "Rapid Fire" as a bonus ability to the wielder.

-= LOADING ORDER =-

This mod needs to be loaded -after- both SMG packs. It tries to add Rapid Fire to these templates:

SMG_CV, SMG_LS, SMG_MG and SMG_BM

Any gun not found at the time this mod is executed will be skipped so if both packs are not present this mod will have no effect.

-= GAME BALANCE =-

Using this mod as-is without other tweaks to the SMG parameters from both packs is overpowered.

I suggest you lower the damage output of the 4 guns to something just above the pistol and double the ammo clip capacity. You can do this via the INI files from both mods.

Giving the gun to a soldier who already has Rapid Fire will have no additional effects, so it's not recommended because you will be underpowered.

Yes. But I'm not sure if it's balanced, use wisely.

Only if the smg pack runs first. The template names have not changed.

one other question - is it possible for us to add other mods to be affected by this? / some of the MW2 ported weapons (like FNP90) are really more SMG than anything, but aren't registered as such.

My mod "Customize All Abilities" supports changing Rapid Fire's cooldown.

yeah, this is a great idea, but OP without tweaking other variables (as you pointed out). Have you thought about having a cooldown available in the .ini that we could adjust ourselves for the ability?
