Description
Hey guys here I present to you the Battle Improvement mod 2.0

Brings better more realistic battles as well as larger unit sizes new recruitment times and costs and no OP transports. For a more fun campaign and a better battlefield experience.

Watch the Video to see how it works. Personally I love it. Maybe a bit of creator's pride. :)


If the cavalry seems a bit too underpowered when charging to the front of another unit... Well that's because it should. And if it fails to win in a prolonged melee against a sword unit, that is also because it should. ahahahah.

Spacings, damages, armor values all changed for a more satisfying battle. Watch the demo of the mod and you'll see!

It would be hard for me to tell you all changed I made in the mod as this mod took ages to perfect until what it is now. But what I can tell you for sure is down bellow:

Shield defense and armor values changed. (Defense decreased but armor increased)
Melee weapon damages changed (Axes better vs armor, spears better vs Cav, swords better vs cav, cav weapon better first strike, cav spear better vs cav)
Distance weapons reworked damage\range\stun effect\spread
City tower fire rate increased.
Unit sizes and spacing increased depending on culture.
Recruitment standerdized with standard lower costs for weaker units. Bigger armies throughout early game!. (Levies - 0\50\0 Lv1 Units - 500\100\1 Lv2 Units\Cav\Artilery 1000\250\2 Lv3 Units\Heavy cav 2000\400\3) (Unit Cost\Unit Upkeep\Turns to make)
Pike units made very weak when attacking without their pikes (Health reduced to 5 instead of 65)
Armor armor values reworked to better suiting values. (Mostly increased but making sense)
Ammo values changed for all missile units. (Less ammo for spear throwing units)
Lv up upgrade changed in armies 1 -> 2 and in agents\generals 1 -> 3
Roman color yellow switched with brown. I don't like that yellow.
Unit speed reduced with more differences between unit types.
Charge speeds increased so medium cav can catch light cav when well manouvered.
Unit weight changed for more powerful better looking charges.
Charging animation 100%
Changed hit probability for more lasting combat.
Reworked moral. Chain routs\morale chocks more likely, heavy fatigue penalty, trops more likely to regroup if battle being won\general alive.
Transport ships very weak. 2 Balistae hits and they sink.

Overall, battles can be won rather quickly by manouvering but some engagements may last a long time. Cavalry is a flanking or anti-flanking force against other cav. Frontal charges are most defenetely not in a cav unit's best interest due to their low hit points and low defense, however they are heavier and can pack a bigger punch when charging. However do not let Cavalry stay in long melee engagements. Missile units are not as accurate now. They have spread. And their missiles with spread out. (More noticeable in archer and slingers). Pikemen are very vulnerable to flanking and missile troops due to their very low hitpoints but will hold an enemy from the front for a long time.. Higher armor for units also means thei're harder to kill. Combat will be prolonged. Acomulated fatigue will, however, be very harmful, as defensive power and attacking power plummet after a unit gets very tired, let alone exhausted.

All in all, I think that missile damages are up for changing in the future but all the rest I'm very pleased with it.

I might have forgoten a change or two. But there's what I can recall.

GEMFX - Graphic Enhancement Mod
Enhanced Particles. (The particles mod isn't working for me now, don't know why)

I also used some blood mod. Not sure which.

No I don't have a list :c I made a clean instal of Rome and at the moment I only have my mod on.
