Description

CURRENTLY DOES NOT WORK

Version 2.0
Adds an automated spotlight that lights the target area up in a small radius.
When enemies come in range, the spotlight 'fires' and the target becomes lit, increasing the chance of hitting the target for your pawns and turrets.
It's got a range of 50 tiles, slightly further than any handheld weapon.
Uses the same clunky AI a vanilla improvised turret has.

Auto Spotlight:
Power draw: 50W standby, 550W active
Research requirement: Electricity, Gunturrets
Cost to make: 70 stuff, 80 steel, 2 components

Current issues:
- Manual spotlight not functioning yet

Credits:
- Ludeon Studios for the game and assets on which this mod is based
- eatKenny[ludeon.com] for creating the original code (and textures?) as part of an obsolete version of his Turret Collection[ludeon.com] mod.
- Thanks go out to Dieter, GHXX, skullywag, Rikiki, dubwise and others for their code submissions and feedback! (Sorry if I missed your name!)

Changelog in the ludeon forum thread!

It's a fair point about using it with mods that alter the brightness of the game. Unfortunately, this specific mod requires a lot of C# programming, which I can read somewhat okay, but not write from scratch. I don't think I could get it working with the latest version of the game unless some coding wizard was willing to contribute. I'm sorry.

It would honestly be extremely useful to have this up-to-date because there's some of us that use mods like Darkest hour, which makes the night pitch black and having some sort of turret that lights up enemies would be really useful. No matter if it affects accuracy or not, it's just useful for the player to see what he's up against.

I use a mod that adds a mining vest and helmet that give light. I also have a spotlight rn from another mod, though I forget which. I use a mod that adds night vision gear and makes light level effect accuracy and reloading. I'll look at it again tomorrow since it is late. Goodnight

Well I don't think the spotlight is that useful anymore then, right? Maybe some clothing/equipment item that gives a small light radius. I dunno if vanilla or some other mod already has that, though.

To shooting accuracy? not in vanilla I think, but it being dark does cut speed by 20% because 100% of animals have night vision

Does anyone know if light/dark debuff is still a thing in 1.0?

Someone took over my mods. I don't know which one's he's working on.

Is light still an effect on shooting accuracy in 17? I saw someone say that a 17 version/compatibility exists, and I am very excited. However I have been playing 17 a while and not noticed the "dark" accuracy debuff present (I may have missed it!)

@Rev; I don't think you're being selfish, I just had a problem with how I percieved one of your messages. I understand that people's savegames have become dependant on this creation.
Unfortunately, the lousy staff and clique of older generation modders is to blame for many aspiring RW modders to quit working on their mods.
Last I saw they made the biggest dog's anus the main guy for RW's Steam section. That's not gonna help, either.

@Bucketsmith I know you thinking I'm being selfish, but I've been waited too long :( Can't unsub it cause it throw my save file into the space.. like space jam.
