Free player to player trades

Description
Do not charge for trades between player ships and stations, and vica versa. This should be very helpful when you have two or more stations.

Are your Solar arrays and Foodstuffs gaining credits and everything else loosing them ? Having to constantly shunt funds about ? Why not try this mod to fix that

In my experience of X Rebirth it can be really difficult to get your stations producing wares and smoothly running. Getting a multi station setup to go smoothly is even harder. That is why I wrote Station Push wares to actively push wares to other player owned stations.

The pump priming phase where you need to get enough wares into stock to get production started needs a lot of player intervention. The way that stock and price work means that your stations are unlikely to sell anything until they produce enough to fill the station with 50% of that product (their prices will be too high). If you can get to 50% stock of the product then things go OK until an NPC ship comes along and cleans you out and puts you back to stage one.

Having free player to player trades will allow your second station to fill up on resources from your first station without going bankrupt and without waiting to sell anything.

Things that you should be aware of when watching manager account balances
If you allow your stations to trade with other factions then your station manager balance should increase.
A player to non player trade may trigger a transfer to the players account if the manager account has a higher than recommended balance. This will actually reduce the manager balance (as it transfers excess money to the player) and is working as Egosoft designed. Its making you money.

Do you know, that free trades leaves your station without money to continue producing goods? Learn economy, buddy.

Im sorry but somethings wrong with the mod. I noticed that station traders sometimes make their entire inventory full with wares and don't do anything with them. effectively making them useless until you manually order them to free up their cargo space again.

So I've found that with this mod, my station ships seem to prioritize some trades over others i.e. My Floating Meadows is filled to the brim by my water and energy cell factories, but my Spice plantations and Med Dispensaries are always empty. I've tested this with and without your Station Push Wares Mod, and I see the same thing. At present, I've disabled both mods, and I'm seeing better behavior from my cargo ships.
I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I figured I'd mention it in case something got broken. It feels an awful lot like the free trades are keeping the managers from prioritizing correctly.

I think that my station push wares should move the wares into warehouses irrespective of price. It will push wares into other places depending upon the trading range of the station that produces the ware.

The Free player to player makes sure that the station manager balances don't change while its doing it.

How does it work with warehouse?
If I want to have products transfered from station to warehouse, do I need to set higher buy price on warehouse? Or it will be transfered to warehouse no matter what price I set?

My issue is that if I have more production of some ware than demand in star system (in my case it's Omicron Lyrae) I would like to have automaticlly transfered wares from stations to warehouse but I don't want to set high buy price on warehouse because I don't want to buy it from NPC's. I need station ships to move wares to warehouse for later use, untill stock is high enough. Then I would like to use bigger freighters to sell it somewhere else in the galaxy or use for trading mission.

I wish it would be possible to set restrictions for other factions for every ware on warehouse, buy and sell separatelly. This would fix my issue. But it's another topic, regarding warehouse itself.

Station building and production does need more of the players time in X Rebirth than the earlier games. Not sure if this is as designed by Egosoft but I certainly feel that the player needs a bit of help to get production going smoothly.

I did consider writing a mod in the way that you have suggested but decided that it was simpler to do free station to station transfers than to redistribute the money, make sure that there were no bugs in the mechanism and explain to players where their money was going.

This mod should fix things so that you don't have to do any fund transfers at all.

You should manually put some funds into each station after you build them (I put 5 million Cr into the managers account for all mine) and then the amount should stay put if you only do player to player trades and increase if you let NPC's buy from you. If it gets above the recommended level then the excess funds will automatically go back to the player after a trade happens.

This is very much needed imo, thank you, I will be trying this as I'm frustrated with station building and production in Rebirth a lot more than other X games.

With this mod now, all I need to do is pay attention to transferring funds out of station B and back into Station A when it needs it to help provide more stock for B. It would be amazing if you could incorporate that into this mod too.

e.g. if station B goes above its recommended funds level (which should be 0 if all stock is provided by other player stations) then it transfers profits back to Station A provided station A is below its recommended funds level. If station A is already above the recommended funds level then station B can transfer the funds to the player instead.

Interesting... I'll try it out later, thanks

In my experience of the game your setup will hiccup like crazy due to the way that stock and prices interact

If you are primarily producing for yourself in a vanilla game then Station A will gain credits and Station B will go bust and stop producing as the money station B raises doesn't cover it building up stock . Station B may recover later when it sells something but its prices will be high as its got little stock so it may never sell anything

If you stop the money transfer between your own stations then station B doesn't go bust and can build up stock and drop prices. You then hope that you can make money by selling to NPC's at a decent margin

IMHO If you want to maximise your earnings then you need to keep the trade within your own stations as much as possible. You built them so you need to make money from them. The last thing that you want to do is buy high priced resources from anyone. Margins are tight in X Rebirth.

Wait, woudn't it break the money balance? I'll try to explain

Station A sells ware to Station B
Station A gains money from Station B, so it can buy and produce more wares
Station B uses the wares bought to produce another ware and sell it making more credits

Now, if station A sells wares to Station B for free, wouldn't Station A eventually run out of credits?
