I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I figured I'd mention it in case something got broken. It feels an awful lot like the free trades are keeping the managers from prioritizing correctly.
The Free player to player makes sure that the station manager balances don't change while its doing it.
If I want to have products transfered from station to warehouse, do I need to set higher buy price on warehouse? Or it will be transfered to warehouse no matter what price I set?
My issue is that if I have more production of some ware than demand in star system (in my case it's Omicron Lyrae) I would like to have automaticlly transfered wares from stations to warehouse but I don't want to set high buy price on warehouse because I don't want to buy it from NPC's. I need station ships to move wares to warehouse for later use, untill stock is high enough. Then I would like to use bigger freighters to sell it somewhere else in the galaxy or use for trading mission.
I wish it would be possible to set restrictions for other factions for every ware on warehouse, buy and sell separatelly. This would fix my issue. But it's another topic, regarding warehouse itself.
I did consider writing a mod in the way that you have suggested but decided that it was simpler to do free station to station transfers than to redistribute the money, make sure that there were no bugs in the mechanism and explain to players where their money was going.
This mod should fix things so that you don't have to do any fund transfers at all.
You should manually put some funds into each station after you build them (I put 5 million Cr into the managers account for all mine) and then the amount should stay put if you only do player to player trades and increase if you let NPC's buy from you. If it gets above the recommended level then the excess funds will automatically go back to the player after a trade happens.
With this mod now, all I need to do is pay attention to transferring funds out of station B and back into Station A when it needs it to help provide more stock for B. It would be amazing if you could incorporate that into this mod too.
e.g. if station B goes above its recommended funds level (which should be 0 if all stock is provided by other player stations) then it transfers profits back to Station A provided station A is below its recommended funds level. If station A is already above the recommended funds level then station B can transfer the funds to the player instead.
If you are primarily producing for yourself in a vanilla game then Station A will gain credits and Station B will go bust and stop producing as the money station B raises doesn't cover it building up stock . Station B may recover later when it sells something but its prices will be high as its got little stock so it may never sell anything
If you stop the money transfer between your own stations then station B doesn't go bust and can build up stock and drop prices. You then hope that you can make money by selling to NPC's at a decent margin
IMHO If you want to maximise your earnings then you need to keep the trade within your own stations as much as possible. You built them so you need to make money from them. The last thing that you want to do is buy high priced resources from anyone. Margins are tight in X Rebirth.
Station A sells ware to Station B
Station A gains money from Station B, so it can buy and produce more wares
Station B uses the wares bought to produce another ware and sell it making more credits
Now, if station A sells wares to Station B for free, wouldn't Station A eventually run out of credits?
