WHAT IT IS
----------------

The Savegame De-Bloatifier removes excess permanent objects that are a source of common complaint:

* Removes stacked supernova Nirnroot glows, and prevents glows accumulating in future
* Reduces savegame bloat by using only two activators instead of three for Nirnroots
* Removes the additive empty nirnroots every time a cell resets, reducing savegame bloat
* Removes left-over Ash piles, Ice piles, Ghost remanants and Wisp cores
* Reduces the volume of excess arrows from battle to further help reduce savegame bloat

By default to improve effectiveness, it does its cleanup as cells are unloaded. If you want to search Ash piles etc, do so before leaving a cell.

You can alternatively tell it cleanup on cell resets, which may take days or weeks depending on what you have your cell reset timer set to. To change the behaviour simply edit the following global variable in Mart's Savegame DeBlotifier.esp using the Creation Kit:

a_MMM_iCleanMethod

Setting it to '0' will clean up when you exit a cell, setting to '1' will cleanup at a cell reset. You can change this at any time.

NOTES
-----------

As arrow projectiles can't have scripts attached, these aren't forcibly removed as with the other objects. A future mod may remove these and other elements like left-over weapons from combat by using an explosion spell with detection code.

Also, it's questionable how effective removing these objects are in terms of stability with a savegame. Over a few hundred hours it's possible all of the above would save a few meg, but this isn't a guarantee of stability one way or the other. Its usefulness is more a visual factor for those who don't like seeing these objects not being removed.

FAQ
-------

Q: Didn't the 1.4 patch fix ash piles not being removed?
A: You'd think so, but in my testing they persisted anyway. There's also no mention of Ice Piles or Wisp Cores, and supernova nirnroot glows certainly aren't addressed (a problem which lies in the original script in the game).

Q: Does this work with mods that replace Nirnroot textures?
A: Yes, this only includes a mesh replacement, it loads whatever textures you're using.

CREDITS

Huge thanks to Throttlekitty for creating updated Nirnroot meshes and spending a few hours debugging with me!

Hi, Martigen! An unexpected place to see a reply to my reply, but oh well. (By the way, I meant, "detected".) Thanks. Okay, so that explains then, why the game became faster, because I just undid a conflict I reckon. That's good to know. I had the patch installed too while I had your mod activated.

That's ok, you don't need it anymore. One of the later official patches from Bethesda eventually fixed the core issue of Nirnroot glows. The other fixes are now a part of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, which I highly recommend. By highly recommend I mean no one should be playing without it -- it fixes well over 1000 issues with the game. Grab the Unofficial Skyrim Patch here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19

I downloaded it because of the increasing amount of ash piles and ghastly remains in my game was ridiculous, to the point that I didn't want to reanimate a dead body or use shock spells anymore but now Skyrim is nice and clean again. Thank you Mart :)

It was a very good mod :3 Thank you for making it!!
Martigen  [author] 7 Oct, 2012 @ 5:19pm
Yes, but note as per my comment a few posts down you should now use the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, which includes an updated form of Mart's Skyrim DeBloatifier, along with a ton of of other excellent fixes. See http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19 to download it.

Could you make random dropped items disappear? Currently, whenever I drop items they stay there, leading to a ridiculous number of pickaxes in mines on an earlier character, as well as the various bandit weapons on the floor where they died still being there when I next pass through.
