[BNW] Confederate States of America CBO Compatibility

In 1 collection by Techpriest Enginseer
Vox Populi Civilization Compatibility Set
8 items
Description
This compatibility pack requires the Vox Populi/Community Balance Overhaul[forums.civfanatics.com] and the Kramer's Confederate States of America Civilization.

In this pack, it provides balances for the Confederate civilization for the Vox Populi.

UA: Confederate Leadership grants all melee and gunpowder units a random, unique promotion upon entering combat for the first time.

UI: Antebellum Manor being able to be built at all flat lands or terrain with a nearby fresh water source will provide +2 Food and +1 Production while increasing the defensive strength of the tile by +20%. If built next to a city, the Manor will also generate +1 Culture and +1 Production. Nearby Cotton, Sugar, and Tobacco resources increase the Manor's Gold and Culture production. Nearby plantations yield +1 Faith, +1 Production, and +1 Culture. Cannot be built adjacent to each other.

UU: Sharpshooters form the backbone of the Confederate States. Replacing the fusilier, they will bombard enemies with a weak ranged attack before entering melee combat while also having an increased combat strength from adjacent military units.

If you got here without a link[forums.civfanatics.com] that directed you here... I don't know what to say but download the requirements... to this mod?

I take no credit in the actual creation behind Kramer's CSA Civilization.

issue with the antebellum manor. this does not do what it says. it reads as though it would stack on the amount of each resources is adjacent. but does nothing. same with regular plantation.

You'll have to add me and we can discuss more on that option.

Hey Enginseer, any suggestions for modding Republic of Rhodesia (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=229729404) for VP compatibility? I'm willing to try and put the mod together myself, but I'm not quite sure as to the proper way to balance it.

I installed this mod with the proper prerequisites and the ability and unit are working fine, but the unique improvement still behaves the same as vanilla. Anyone have a fix for this? Thanks!

protip: do not use Civ Names by Policies with this mod unless you get a kick out of redundancy. a Confederation of Confederate States is hard to take seriously (even more hilarious if you happen to get Confucianism as your religion, in which case it’s possible to get an abbreviated civ name like Conf. Conf. Confederate States).

anyway, really fun (and powerful) civ; if you get lucky with resource placement the UI becomes borderline OP. thanks for updating it for VP!

No, Rainy... The Civil War had little, to do with slavery... The only thing related to slavery in the civil war was the states rights to choose if they wanted slaves or not... Only every other state that joined the US got to choose if they were a free state or a slave state, and the other half was forced to be the opposite of what the previous state chose. The CSA was fighting so every state would be able to choose. Abraham Lincoln was also a tyrannical leader as well... When the Civil War started, he believed he had certain "War Powers" to fight the CSA... The Central Government expanded rapidly, and he became a tyrant... One man (I forgot his name) openly said "I wouldn't wipe my ass witht he stars and stripes". Lincoln soon found out, and had him arrested, and tried...

@Cowkiller They did fight about slavery, the sectional divide between North and South was slavery, but you are right. The Emancipation Proclamation only targeted the South. However, shortly after the war, slavery did stop.

They didn't fight about slavery... The Emanicipation Proclamation was issued during the was after a strategic victory by the North at Antietnam. And it didn't free slaves in the North; only behind Confederate borders. There were even 3 slave states in the Union: Missouri, Kentucky, and Maryland.

This is a pretty neat mod! :) I like the idea.
