Description
There is nothing more disappointing than a troll that fights, runs away, and lives to fight another day. Just thinking about it is frustrating to slayers as a whole. Which is why they call in the riveters to literally nail those stinking mounds of rotting flesh to the earth.

It is inevitable that engineers, smiths, and other disciples of Grungni will be forced to take the slayer oath. But to waste their talents on a simple sprint into death would be a shame indeed. However, the slayer tradition states a slayer should not beholden to armor or to firearms in general. So Ungrim, pondering this conundrum as he walked past the construction of a great bridge, discovered a solution. The great rivet guns used by the great engineers of Karaz Ankor could make a fine (if crude) weapon for a slayer without completely discarding his pride. A great hulking bludgeon is always appealing to a slayer, and the fact that it spits white-hot metal at trolls is a magnificent bonus.

Notes from the Creator:

These are quasi lore-friendly units. I'm not familiar with anything in dwarvish lore that proves any such item as this rivet gun exists, but given their current state of technology such a thing surely would very soon if it does not already.

I created this unit to give slayers a ranged unit option, for those inclined to field a more slayer-themed army. The unit itself is smaller than most other main-line ranged troops, though each shot packs a bigger punch and has a small amount of splash damage. This and longer reload-times and less ammo make this unit overall less effective as a source of direct ranged damage against infantry, but they are more effective overall at damaging large targets such as cavalry and monstrous units. A Slayer's delight. They are also quit effective at damaging the morale of a specific troop, as splash damage compunds this effect.

Future plans:

I'd love to toss a status effect on these guys that slows down enemies hit by them, or sunders armor without needing dlc to apply. Once I figure out how to create on-contact abilities, I'll try to put those in. If someone has a better idea on how to accomplish this, please contact me.

Balance
- Smaller unit size, less ammo, less versatility shooting into a melee (splash damage, and the size of the shell has a higher chance of hiting your own troops unless you are careful), and shorter range. Decent melee combatant, but more expensive than your average thunderer. Good against larger targets.

Compatibility
- No known issues so far.

Art
- Thumbnaill artwork found on the internet, artists unknown. I left the artwork's signature on the image. Unit tile artwork is a composite I made (and modified, badly) using some CA/GW properties, which I do not own.

These guys sound interesting! Could even help make the Slayer King and his faction become really unique!!
Maybe you should do just that in the future, get some help from the mod community on anything you can't do / understand.
I think you're on to something here lad!

That's one Grudge removed.

Just wanted to mention that Slayers are SUPPOSED to die. If you die in your first engagement, even better.

Encountered a cross-compatibility issue with one of my other mods, and had to update. This should not have spoiled anyone's saves.
