VCZ Modular Fighter Cockpit

Description

A small ship Fighter Cockpit with the unique ability of being able to see out from the inside. Oh and also it has modules, a lot of modules. :)

Size - 3x4x3 (without the modules); 3x5x4 (with modules built up)
Build Time - 35s for the main cockpit model, modules vary from 2 to 15 seconds.

Steel Plate - 20
Construction Component - 15
Motor - 4
Computer - 10
Display - 5
Interior Plate - 10
Bulletproof Glass - 20
Metal Grid - 10

The different modules require different components. I am not going to list them all here, but basic logic applies to all of them. For example, you can expect that LCD will require Displays, PBs and Timers will require Computers, Gas Tanks will require Large Tubes and of course you will need an Interior Plate for cargo containers.


Instead of listing some not so important attributes, I decided to provide a list and short description of the modules. I will try to make a more detailed guide on how to build the cockpit even though I believe it’s pretty straight forward.

The module options of the cockpit are separated in two different sections - Overhead (the top part) and Front.

Overhead section modules:
Opening Canopy - 3x4x1 (takes ALL of the top mounts). An opening and closing canopy. Cannot use any other overhead module with it. Can be controlled by the two small buttons on the sides of the cockpit or any other external button, sensors, timers and cockpit toolbar. (just like any door)
Closed Canopy - 3x3x1 (takes the rest of the top mounts). An always closed canopy that allows the use of the overhead modules.
Cargo Container "Big" - 3x1x1 (takes the whole width of the top back part), allows the use of the small conveyor port on the back and has a large conveyor connection towards the cockpit.
Cargo Container "Small" - 1x1x1 (opens room for two more modules to it's sides and still allows the use of the small conveyor port on the back and has a large conveyor connection towards the cockpit.
Oxygen Generator - 3x1x1 (takes the whole width of the top back part), allows the use of the small conveyor port on the back, slower and less efficient than the standard Oxygen Generator. It can accept and refill bottles and has a large conveyor connection towards the cockpit.

Front section modules:
1st Row - a small cargo container in the middle, that allows conveyor connections to it's sides for the Oxygen and Hydrogen tanks modules (or anything else you may decide to build there, like Gattling guns for example).
- the left and the right sides are where the Oxygen and Hydrogen tanks go. They both have 3 different shapes, so you can finish off the nose of the cockpit as you desire.
2nd Row - Only the 3 Displays can go here
3rd Row - This is where you place the Timer and Programmable Block modules. They are interchangeable and you can only have one in each of the 3 slots. This means 3 of a kind or mix them up. For examaple 1 Timer and 2 PBs or 1 PB and 2 Timers in any of the places.

IMPORTANT:
Due to model offsets or some other issue, the 3rd Row is very sensitive to Right Click deletion. If you misplaced a block and want to remove it, use the Grinder or you may delete the Cockpit instead.

The cockpit and all of it’s modules are located in a group named “VCZ Modular Fighter Cockpit”.

I will try to improve the textures and make small changes to the models.
Add more modules.
Possibly make a smaller cockpit without the top modules.

This wont work on Xbox, its got client side scripts for the cockpit opening animations, Xbox cant run those.

The only problem with doing this is it's bloating the mod size unnecessary. But if you don't have the model files it's the only way. :(
