Moons of Mars

Description
Deimos and Phobos, the moons of Mars, are carbonaceous asteroids captured in the Martian gravity well. They are extremely small. Phobos orbits closest to the planet, while Deimos is farther out.

Recommended distances from the planet surface-

Phobos: 56.51 km

Deimos: 220.94 km

For gameplay purposes, the moon sizes relative to the planet are roughly doubled. Even with this increase, they are still small.

I recommend placing a GPS point somewhere near the planet's equator (slightly up or down of it is good), below where you want the moon to orbit, and then using Spectator Mode to go directly out to the spot you want and placing the asteroid. I also recommend marking them with a GPS point or you will have a difficult time finding them again without Space Master.

These are high quality asteroids and will take a little bit of time to paste into the world (Phobos, more so than Deimos), so be patient.

Because both moons are darker, carbonaceous asteroids, I will likely be changing Deimos to match the color of Phobos.

Hello @entspeak! Will these work in a public server of more than 16 players?

Hi, I wanted to ask if it would be okay to upload your mod to mod.io?
Since we want to start a private crossplay server and would like to continue using your mod.

@Trapper Wolf They're too small, and there'd be no way to get the shapes right, as planets and moons are based on spheres.

This is great work, any chance you can create them as planets/moons, so that the map script can see them?

Sorry if I offended you, was just wondering. I will learn to educate my self in the future.

@choppa_joe... you don't seem to understand how copyrights work. It's my original work. The fact that it exists, I've claimed it as mine, and I have the original files to show that it is my original work, establishes the copyright under common law. Do your research. I have successfully defended my work here under DMCA before, and will continue to do so if necessary.

Did you actually copyright this? If so, could you link me to the copyright?
