Description
This mod removes 'Pottery' from the Free Techs List the AI player get on King+ difficulties setting at the start of the game, allowing you to be on an equal footing regarding religion founding and pantheon choice.

Features:
  • Tired of getting your wanted beliefs stolen by the AI every single game and was wondering why that happened?
  • Tired of playing Tiny or small Maps and not being able to found your religion at all since AI top the max religion number for the map before you even get your prophet?
  • The purpose of this Mod is to fix that by removing Free Pottery from the AI Free Tech List.

Notes:
  • On King difficulty and higher, AI starts to get free bonus to economy, research, etc, including starting Free Techs.
  • With the intoduction of religion in Gods and kings, and the Shrine building enabled by Pottery, the Free pottery tech has an irritating side effect, wich is that all the AI gets Faith many turns before you (since they chose to start with a shrine, having the free tech), thus getting the first choice every game for Pantheon and Religion founding.

Compatibility:
  • Compatible with Vanilla Civilization 5
  • Compatible with Gods and Kings Expansion
  • Compatible with Brave New World Expansion

Excellent mod. It's not hard to dominate on Prince, but everything above Prince leaves a bitter taste in ones mouth knowing how easily AI's can snipe all the good wonders. And not saying that Great Library is a must, but rushing national college on top of it seems pretty important if one wants to match Babylon and Korea.

I always wondered how/why the AI always seems to bust out the Great Library incredibly quickly every game.

THANK YOU, I use the extra pantheon beliefs mod, and Monument to the Gods gives you a 15% production bonus for wonders, AND 3 + CULTURE PER TURN FOR POLICY UNLOCKED WONDERS. the AI choose this ALMOST EVERY TIME, so I get quite restricted, especially because I often find myself without marble.

what tech do they get instead?

@Gerishnakov

They start to get free Pottery at King difficulty and upper, among other benefits. This mod removes Free Pottery for all those difficulties but has no effect under King difficulty.

Does this completely remove Pottery as a free tech for the AI, or just as the free tech they get at King difficulty?
