Excellent mod. It's not hard to dominate on Prince, but everything above Prince leaves a bitter taste in ones mouth knowing how easily AI's can snipe all the good wonders. And not saying that Great Library is a must, but rushing national college on top of it seems pretty important if one wants to match Babylon and Korea.
A Pebble 25 Aug, 2021 @ 2:40am
I always wondered how/why the AI always seems to bust out the Great Library incredibly quickly every game.

God bless you mate

THANK YOU, I use the extra pantheon beliefs mod, and Monument to the Gods gives you a 15% production bonus for wonders, AND 3 + CULTURE PER TURN FOR POLICY UNLOCKED WONDERS. the AI choose this ALMOST EVERY TIME, so I get quite restricted, especially because I often find myself without marble.
jayc90 8 Sep, 2018 @ 11:16am
great library whores.
ryankiller5 29 Feb, 2016 @ 1:13pm
what tech do they get instead?
BlouBlou  [author] 17 Jan, 2016 @ 12:51pm
@Gerishnakov

They start to get free Pottery at King difficulty and upper, among other benefits. This mod removes Free Pottery for all those difficulties but has no effect under King difficulty.
Gerishnakov 17 Jan, 2016 @ 11:26am
Does this completely remove Pottery as a free tech for the AI, or just as the free tech they get at King difficulty?

@crashburn274

Awsome!

@snaefe

as said in the mod description, its a common steam issue, just clear your mod cache by following the steps described in the troubleshooting section.

regards.

Is the file missing? I never seem to download anything after subscribing..

@mister

Glad you like it, the belief mod is my favorite and its the one whos taken the longest time to develop =)
Mister Molecule 18 Aug, 2013 @ 11:06am
Not to mention the head start toward the great library. I just tried your belief expansions and they are excellent! I like the changes you've made from the original version
BlouBlou  [author] 18 Aug, 2013 @ 10:08am
@Mister
No problem! =)

Other afvantages of the AI? name it lol free starting units, free tech, production speed bonus, etc... , im ok with other advantage to improve their game play but the pottery was just ruining the religion founding and it came from vanilla Civ before G&K when religion was released.
Mister Molecule 17 Aug, 2013 @ 1:09pm
Free pottery!?!? Those sneaky bastards! I mean the developers. Too lazy to give the AI a better strategy at higher difficulty so they just give 'em a cheating advantage. Thanks for improving the game. I have not figured out those 4 editing programs for civ 5, dont even know where to start, so I'm in the dark about the other AI advantages.

@loncaros.

Not in my collections, i dont know about other mod though
Quineloe 4 Aug, 2013 @ 2:47am
Is there a mod that removes all tech advantages the AI gets on higher difficulties?
FlΦw 27 Jul, 2013 @ 4:02am
Very useful mod, thanks
Georgestephenson 11 Jul, 2013 @ 1:54pm
Thanks, I'll just keep waiting with the rest of the world to BNW to unlock, at least your part is done. Good job.
Mazey 12 May, 2013 @ 6:02pm
@Nagneto
The likely reason they got their faith so early would be getting faith from ruins or from meeting religious city states.
funnymanbc 19 Feb, 2013 @ 4:32am
I intend for it to affect human players. I believe pottery is what most people tech first. It kind of wastes a free tech to have it be what you were only a few turns away from getting anyway. But either way love the mod. Also a fan of the expanded beliefs so far. :)
BlouBlou  [author] 18 Feb, 2013 @ 2:37pm
@funny

its an intesresting suggestion, though it will also affect Human players.

Ill think about this one.

Thanks for your suggestion and your comment! =)
funnymanbc 18 Feb, 2013 @ 2:14pm
Love the mod so far. Just one suggestion: Remove pottery from free techs you can get from villages as well.
Economic Terrorist 5 Feb, 2013 @ 11:51pm
I'll do that thanks.
BlouBlou  [author] 5 Feb, 2013 @ 8:18pm
@Nagneto

this only reduce one of their cheat and if you play against a celt youre done they will get it first anyway. Use IGE to test ull see that this mod does what it says, remove starting pottery from AI.

There is no problems with the mods, i assure you. Track the compouter behavior using Ige to see why they got it before you in your particuliar case.
Economic Terrorist 5 Feb, 2013 @ 7:46pm
We might have spoke to soon. 7th turn in when I finished researching Pottery as my first tech. Some jerk started worshiping a panthon. I restart to test it again. 5 turns in, Someone starts worshipping a panthon, and Potttery wasn't finished being researched. I am using a couple of your religion mods, as well as strange religions and others. Not sure of the problem, but the computer is still cheating.
BlouBlou  [author] 5 Feb, 2013 @ 5:45am
@Nagneto

yes thats why =) , np, im glad you like it !
Economic Terrorist 5 Feb, 2013 @ 3:39am
So that's why they kept getting a panthon like on the third friggin turn. Thanks so much for this man.

@BlouBlou
Hi BlouBlou, thank you for the substantial explanation.Obviously it works :)) (I did not know about the cache folder before) . I love your mods,which imho are among the best there are for Civ V .

Regards
BlouBlou  [author] 6 Dec, 2012 @ 2:43pm
@silmarod
Hi silma, thank you for your comment and interest in that mod, your issue is a common issue with any mod on steam workshop.

The classic solution is to:

1) Unsubscribe The mod, exit steam and civ 5 completly

2) empty your mod folder :

C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\My documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS

3) Delete the Civ5ModsDatabase.db

located at:

C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\My documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache

4) Restart steam, subscribe, restart civ 5.

It should download fine after that, i personaly have to do that often.

Regards
Silmarod 6 Dec, 2012 @ 1:44am
Hallo,your mod is one of my favorites,but since mods from the workshop keep vanishing from my mods folder,breaking my games every day now,I do nort use any mods any more,that I can only get from the workshop.

Since I really like your mod: could you upload it on http://www.civfanatics.com ,or any other place you might prefer,from where I could download it and stuff it manually into my mods folder ?
BlouBlou  [author] 27 Nov, 2012 @ 9:32am
@seoul

this will work for all difficulties where the AI were getting the free tech pottery.
KamenRangerRed 27 Nov, 2012 @ 9:31am
Will this work for difficulties below King?

yes work with custom civ, even if the ai is playing it. Also all the mod in the religion collection work with custyom civ on the workshop.
iamaplayer 5 Aug, 2012 @ 1:28am
Does it work with custom civs?
BlouBlou  [author] 29 Jul, 2012 @ 7:19pm
@Flyin

Yes it work for vanilla too, even if its intended to affect religious play and goes with the other.
FlyinBreakfast 22 Jul, 2012 @ 6:39pm
want that for vanilla too, does it work?
