WH40k Bridge Map

Description
This is a Bridge Map for Warhammer 40,000. The Inspiration for the map is WW2 Operation Market Garden where the primary objectives were to capture the bridges.

I also felt that a lot of the current maps lack any reason for armies to fight over them.

Narrative of the Map

This represents a battle being fought to capture an important bridge across a canyon. One side is well dug in whilst the other has slipped in under the cover of darkness and erected temporary defensive lines whilst they attempt to seize the bridge.

Also note that given the nature of the map you will get very different games based on which deployment zone you use. I hope you will give it a try, even though its very different from the normal style of map.

Credits to:
Baryonyx who created the trench assets used
JamesManhattan who provided the cliff assets used
Vess who created the various rocks used (Seriously, check out Vess's work, lots of stuff for battlefields and RPGs).

Let me know what you think in the comments.

There is supposed to be a flowing river at the bottom of the canyon, if you cant see this, you can download the asset from here:

This reminds me of the Sanctus Reach mission where the Orks have to charge across a boiling river.

I can see many opportunities for protracted long-range battles, as well as the need for units to push forward into melee...very nice depiction of a typical bridge-capture scenario! You can even turn it into a Kill Team map and have an interesting Sweep-and-Clear or Lines of Battle map!

yep, its a cool looking map, and so long as the use of the map is planned in advance, it creates some interesting games
certainly not a map I would just spring on an opponent

Just got personally shown around the map, although when you showed me it there were missing textures it looked freakin awesome so I had to come search for it! Everything works fine when I loaded it up and the scale is awesome, great work!

@Baryonx I was aware of that, but I hadnt decided on the tetures until the end, at which point I was damned if I was going to start moving things in addition to retexturing lol. Oddly enough, its your blocks from your mod that I find most useful lol. Always give credit where its due if I know where I pilfered it from

What an interesting idea! Thanks for crediting.
As a tip: You can easily add some variation to larger flat areas if you turn the terrain pieces around or even flip them.
