[Indefinite Hiatus] Mezari Affinity

EDIT: Sorry everybody, this is on indefinite Hiatus. I do not think my last design for the affinity would offer an engaging enough gameplay experience, and I have a hard time trying to work on this after my professional work for Amplitude is done. It is essentially abandoned, but if I have a good idea for a better affinity I may come back to it.


Tired of the Mezari being only a reskin of the Vaulters? This is the mod for you.
Inspired by the Mezari connection to the United Empire of Endless Space, their affinity revolves around influence and the empire Plan. A tight-knit but hierarchical community descended from a spaceship's crew, the Mezari people are ready to throw themselves with vigor at any task their leaders demand for the good of the nation. In addition, what little technology they could salvage from their ship has been cleverly applied to streamlined mass production, increasing the efficiency of the Mezari workforce.

Features:
- New Affinity for the Mezari: Captain's Orders:
+2 FIDS per population
The four Empire Plan branches give the following extra bonuses
Exploration: +1 Food, -0.5 Industry
Military: +1 Industry, -0.5 Food
Economy: +1 Dust, -0.5 Science
Science: +1 Science, -0.5 Dust
- New Mezari Units

Known Issues:
- The "Holy Resource" Affinity has not been disabled. This is intentional, as it is required by the Vaulter questline.
- No full localization files yet
- The icon for applied effects of the Mezari unit capacities does not show.
- Sometimes, a second copy of the settler template shows up.
- Placeholder icons

Planned features:
- Updated faction technologies (more details later)
- New Mezari unit capacities (more details later)
- New main quest
- Localization (hopefully, if I can get help)

Firstly, sorry for not replying sooner. I did not notice the notification for this message among the long list of work-related messages.
To be honest, I overestimated my ability to get back to work on this and stick with it.
The big problem is that when I did try to go back to it (trying to redesign the questline), I became dissatisfied with the affinity I had come up with, both from a design and technical perspective. The implementation was a mess, but worse, I don't feel it created engaging gameplay, because the affinity really only required decisions every 20 turns.
I still love Endless Legend, and I still want the Mezari to have their own affinity, but after a day of work around our games, most of the time I just need a little bit of distance.

Sorry to disappoint. I just don't think I can deliver a mod with the quality I'd want for the Mezari affinity.

Any news on this? Seems the most relevant mod out there, since the Mezari aren't a "real" faction now, with it's own unique traits and questlines, and I always thought this a great pity, like actually having a race/faction LESS than was portrayed...

But anyhow.... don't want to be rude, but IS there still ANY work being done on this. When I glance at the history of the comments, I see like: months and years of nothing due to health issues, then due to additional health concerns, then due to "lost notes", and then due to being employed at Amplitude - all that mixed with assurances that the next version will be out, during all that time (but didn't).

Not wanting to complain, but give it to us straight: IF/when is a new version going to be made, approximately? It's better to have a clear "no", than a halfhearted "maybe", also for other modders whom might think of doing the same, but now don't because they might think you're still working on this one.

I still plan to get back to this, and hopefully soon. Unfortunately, in the chaos of moving countries, I have lost some of my notes, so for some things I have to start from scratch (mostly for faction specific buildings and the questline).

@The-Cat-o-Nine-Tales. It's been a year and a half since you last posted. I'm happy you joined Amplitude. Great studio from what's seen online. Any chance that you'll be updating this now Humankind is almost done? If not would you allow someone else to take the mod over?

Makes Empire always be in Rebellion, from the start of the game, with the latest 2 DLCs.

1st, wow, joining the Amplitude team! Talk about ascended modding. Congrats, cat.

Second, can confirm. Cannot destroy Kapaku Volcanoformers or Mykara fungal blooms with this mod active.

Yes, the mod has not been updated for some time, and may not work properly at the moment. I still hope to finish a Mezari affinity at some point, but I had to put the mod on hiatus for a while after joining Amplitude for various reasions (personal and professional).
