Firstly, sorry for not replying sooner. I did not notice the notification for this message among the long list of work-related messages.
To be honest, I overestimated my ability to get back to work on this and stick with it.
The big problem is that when I did try to go back to it (trying to redesign the questline), I became dissatisfied with the affinity I had come up with, both from a design and technical perspective. The implementation was a mess, but worse, I don't feel it created engaging gameplay, because the affinity really only required decisions every 20 turns.
I still love Endless Legend, and I still want the Mezari to have their own affinity, but after a day of work around our games, most of the time I just need a little bit of distance.

Sorry to disappoint. I just don't think I can deliver a mod with the quality I'd want for the Mezari affinity.

Any news on this? Seems the most relevant mod out there, since the Mezari aren't a "real" faction now, with it's own unique traits and questlines, and I always thought this a great pity, like actually having a race/faction LESS than was portrayed...

But anyhow.... don't want to be rude, but IS there still ANY work being done on this. When I glance at the history of the comments, I see like: months and years of nothing due to health issues, then due to additional health concerns, then due to "lost notes", and then due to being employed at Amplitude - all that mixed with assurances that the next version will be out, during all that time (but didn't).

Not wanting to complain, but give it to us straight: IF/when is a new version going to be made, approximately? It's better to have a clear "no", than a halfhearted "maybe", also for other modders whom might think of doing the same, but now don't because they might think you're still working on this one.

I still plan to get back to this, and hopefully soon. Unfortunately, in the chaos of moving countries, I have lost some of my notes, so for some things I have to start from scratch (mostly for faction specific buildings and the questline).

@The-Cat-o-Nine-Tales. It's been a year and a half since you last posted. I'm happy you joined Amplitude. Great studio from what's seen online. Any chance that you'll be updating this now Humankind is almost done? If not would you allow someone else to take the mod over?

Second, can confirm. Cannot destroy Kapaku Volcanoformers or Mykara fungal blooms with this mod active.

Yes, the mod has not been updated for some time, and may not work properly at the moment. I still hope to finish a Mezari affinity at some point, but I had to put the mod on hiatus for a while after joining Amplitude for various reasions (personal and professional).

I think this mod is broken. Whenever I use it my empire is in a constant state of rebellion even if my cities are all happy.

Idk if endless legend allows it but seeing an alternative melee animation marine or a larger numbers dawn officer variant would be interesting to see.
I did enjoy this mod a decent amount although it overwrites other mods that I sometimes use and still has the image issue and lore text still in To be decided mode.

The mod is incompatible with inferno due to lack of updates. Judging by the glacial pace of development, don't expect it to ever be finished.

Can I still use this mod or would it break now? I am really sad this was never finished as the Mezari being a clone of the Vaulters was one of my few complaints about Endless Legend.

In the interim, if you want a custom Mezari faction, check out my screenshots for an example, or make your own custom facton.

This faction, the Spacers, is a more defensive, science-focused variant of the Vaulters, contrasted with my custom Vaulters faction, which is a more offensive, militaristic faction focused on supremacy.

I like to think of the Otzi (or ice men) as a doomsday prepper / imperium of man faction, with bonuses during winter and superior metallurgy.

My apologies to everybody who has been waiting on a feature-complete version of this mod. Unfortunately my current situation has meant (literally) no end to my health issues.
The plan had been to release version 1.0 in time for Gamescom, but that is not going to work out. The new goal is to release by New Year's or at least next Endless Day.
I'll try to post a "Development Plan" within the next month to set milestones.

I technically have the City Improvement patch ready, but I decided it would be better to integrate it with the quest right away, so I will need a little longer.", and... nothing... Are these changes written into the game itself, or are they applied like with a custom-made faction?
(asking because of the points this takes; some of the pre-designed factions are stacked with their abilities, past the point to which custom-made factions can get; the costs would be too high)
+ does one need to restart the campaign for the changes to apply?

@danielmratliff21 I have not tested that. If "More Faction Traits" is an "Extension" mod, they might be compatible. If it is a "Conversion," then they don't work together.

Looking forward to the day I add this to the mod folder and give it a spin. Always felt like they could've done so much more with the concept of the Mezari (Yes I'm aware they're only a reskin yet that doesn't make what I said any less true). Keep up the good work and stay healthy!

To everybody concerned about the stagnation of development: I had unfortunately hit a spot of bad health that made it next to impossible to concentrate for extended periods of time. Consequently, I have not been able to produce much new content, though I have taken the time to explore the relevant quest files more. I will try to have a new build by the end of the week. In the meantime, feel free to leave comments in the Design Document.

@Inugami Rukazu I have considered the bonus to anomalies as well as the ruins. Unfortunately, I had to discard the concept of building on ruins, as I can not implement new models for the city tiles.
There may yet be exploitation of anomalies and ruins, but not in the form of districts.
I do have almost everything planned, and I will post a GDD along with version 0.2 at some point this week.

hey dude, i love this idea, and i was thinking, they are from space, why not make them better with the anomalies and ruins(that were made by the endless), you can make thinks like ''they receive x1.5 the FIDS in anomalies'' and ''they can create districts in ruins that give then a sience bonus''
but they are just ideas, i expect that i can help you with some ideas with this mode, this can be great

Just got Endless Legend; I know about the Mezari through Endless Space 2 lore, this seems like a really interesting, possibly exciting idea I can happily get behind.

Be sure to keep us posted! I'll be sure to download but I'm in no hurry, once you're happy with its final state.
