Limo Garage

Description
Fully functional Garage Workshop with a Gantry Crane and a new road leading straight into your prison. This mod is a hook into my Advanced Roads mod which is also required.

USAGE
Place a QuickBuild Limo Garage on the map. Wait for it to complete. Once the contruction is done, a new road and the garage floors will be spawned automaticaly. Wait some more and the Tow Trucks will arrive to deliver car engines and broken cars.

OVERVIEW
The garage has a Gantry Crane operated by a Car Mechanic Helper which will grab the cars/engines from the Tow Trucks and place them on the garage floor. Once placed, the Car Mechanic Helper will open the hood so you can see how much damage the engine has.

Prisoners or Workmen will then start to repair the cars. Depending on how much damage an engine has, it either gets repaired in several repair jobs, or put in a Lesson Car where it gets refurbished, or (if no space available) completely dismantled.

Once engines have been repaired, the Car Mechanic Helper will close the hood. A Limo Bill will spawn which goes to Exports, and some Limo Repair Papers will go to the Limo Filing Cabinet. A Limo Driver will come walking down the garage lane and wait at the ServiceDesk where he gets a Limo Receipt from the Car Mechanic Helper. The Gantry Crane will then put the repaired car back on the road so the driver can leave with his car.

CASH FLOW
Engine damage is determined at random when cars are brought in. A more damaged engine = higher bill for the customer. There will also be some Repair Papers spawned, which go into a Limo Filing Cabinet, producing a second Limo Bill for administrative costs. This one also goes to Exports. Both bills will generate a nice income between 250-5000 per repaired car. But it takes a while before a car has been repaired.

LIGHT EFFECTS
The Gantry Crane Hook and the Wheels on the Rails are wired objects. A StatusLight is below them, so if you connect the Hook and the Wheels to their lights, they will flash when the crane is moving.

BUTTONS
The left Gantry Crane Rail has a button to spawn a fresh floor if you like. But of course you can customize the floor tiles however you want. The examples in the screenshot are made with my CombiPack mod which holds a lot of additional materials.
The left Crane Rail also has a button to delete the whole crane and all car related stuff if required.

SECURITY
If you go into Deployment View you can set the garage, office and road to different zones. Setting the road to StaffOnly would probably be a good idea. But you could also get rid of the walls along the indoor road and make it a bigger garage floor to have room for more prisoners to work. Remember to zone the rooms to the way you want it, since quickbuilds can't zone the garage the way it's intended.

NEW REFORM
Limo Repair (theoretic) takes place in a Classroom
Limo Repair (practical), takes place in a Limo Garage where studens use a Lesson Car.
Both programs need a Car Mechanic who requires an office.

NEW RESEARCH
You must complete the Limo Repair Shop research to be able to use the garage. This research requires a Foreman, Maintenance and Prison Labour.

NEW ENTITIES
- Car Mechanic: the senior who will give reform classes. Can be bought in the StaffMenu.
- Car Mechanic Helper: somebody on the garage floor who will open and close car hoods. He also operates the Gantry Crane. This guy spawns automatically.
- Limo Driver: a person will walk down the garage lane to fetch a repaired car and drive away.

NEW OBJECTS
- Limo Filing Cabinet, where Repair Papers are transformed into bills.
- Gantry Crane, Tow Truck, several Limo's, engine blocks, and Car Parts Rack which you can't buy, but only place with QuickBuild rooms:

NEW QUICKBUILDS

- Limo Garage Large, a big garage for 8 cars with a centre road. The large garage also has a transparent Paint Cabin where cars will be painted in a different colour. This large garage has a build-in office for the Car Mechanic, and some leftover space for a little Classroom to teach the prisoners. Both rooms must be zoned manually once the quick build construction is finished (it's currently not possible to make a quickbuild with more pre-zoned rooms inside one building).
- Limo Garage SmallLeft and SmallRight, with capacity for 4 cars either to the left or rightside of the road.

Note: these QuickBuilds must be placed at least 12 tiles from the map top and bottom, so Tow Trucks are able to enter and leave the map. Spawning the road and garage floors works best when the game speed is set to Normal.

NEW CONTRABAND
Expensive bill, a luxury item for prisoners who thought they could make some money with it when they are released. Unfortunately for them, these papers keep being smelly from the oil fumes in the garage...

UPDATE
- Added 64bit support, sprites should display correctly now when running PrisonArchitect64.exe
- Existing garages are deleted, please place a new one.

NOTE: this version is incompatible with prior release due to various changes/enhancements. If you already had this mod installed and running in a prison, please follow these steps to update without errors:

1. Deactivate the Limo Garage mod in the game menu
2. Load your map with the old garage, so the objects get removed
3. Delete the Road Markers at the top of the the old garage lanes
3. Save your map
4. Update and enable the Limo Garage mod in the game menu. You can then load your prison and place the new quickbuilds on the old lanes.
5. Or ignore the steps above and just kamikaze load your prison with the updated mod.



IMPORTANT: When you place 2 garages on the same lane, please remember to press the Update Road Map button on the Streetmanager on top of map so all RoadGate positions are updated at the RoadMarker.

It's being updated, sure. I guess it requires a new update as well for the latest game.

You can still fall back to a prior on-steam version and run it besides the steam version as well:

While coding Limo Garage 2.0 some bugs caught my attention which have been fixed as well. Instead of updating this mod, I will release a new one, since it has stuff only compatible with PA Update 14 in it. Oh boy, it's becoming a very extensive mod, where you can build your garage the way you like it. Needs some more testing though, stay tuned!

Disable your incompatible old mods and also mods which alter the supplytruck, because it's scripted inside this one.

I will code an updated Limo Garage with the new features for Update 14.
But this mod is big and the code is quite difficult, so this will take a while.

@Kovy, you should disable:
- barber mod
- customizable control booths
- detectable drugs
- snitch sorter
- no desk security room

All these mods are already inside the combipack. It's also advised to disable the other ones. The armed guards have a different render depth for the cemetery, and CCTV arrows changes the objects spritesheet, a core file, which will make it incompatible with combipack.

@murgh - Hey, I rebuild the limo garage but for some reason it is not working. The room dosen't automatically spawns, you need to set it. The mechanic nor the workers fix cars. They just wait their.
