The Librarian - Book Sorting

Description
Renames books, moving articles to the end of the title for easier organization.

For example, "The Rise and Fall of the Blades" becomes "Rise and Fall of the Blades, The". This is only recommended if you collect books and make little libraries like I do. If you don't, check out the other mods here on the Workshop. This does not conflict with Headbomb's Better Sorting, because it only renames books and not journals, notes and reports.

It also fixes books in other ways to make them appear in the correct order on your bookshelf, and gives books in the same series the same world model.

If you have a house such as Dovahkin's Hideout, you might have a bunch of book shelves and you'll want to make your own little library, however there are 100+ books that start with "The", more than enough to fill up an entire bookshelf. This makes it so that the books are in the correct order in your inventory and on the bookshelf.

This is really nothing groundbreaking, as of the latest revision all I have done is switch world models and rename the books, which is all a bit of tedious labor and no fancy scripting. I haven't added any scripts that automatically sort things on bookshelves. Despite this, if you're one of the few that collects books, this will be useful.

Many mods add, modify, or rename books, and as much as I'd like to rename and modify those, this would require The Librarian to 'reference' the other mod, which would make The Librarian incompatable for those without the other mods. As of now, I think I have done all I can with the vanilla books, so I'm satisfied with my current work.

Revision 2) Fixes the "2920" books to be in chronological order, with the version number before the month.

Revision 3) Books in the same series have the same world model, while keeping the same inventory model as before to let you know which ones boost skills. Also fixed books with version numbers to have a space before some so that the order doesn't go in " v1, v10, v11, v12, v2, v3" and instead is in the correct order.

Revision 4) Fixed "Wolf Queen, v1, The" to have the same world model. Missed that one somehow.

Revision 5) Fixed some other books. Nothing major.

@SideQuestPubs I agree with removing the "The" completely. I think it's completely unnecessary and should be removed.

+1 to remove the "The"s

Possible revision for those who want the sorting but don't like seeing the "the" at the end:
Remove "the" entirely. And "a" in the case of books that would normally have started with that.

Although this suggestion is as much for those gamers to implement themselves (by way of opening up the creation kit and making whatever changes they prefer) as it is for the mod's creator.
Though of course the first option does depend on having the mod author's permission to modify the mod.

Just a suggestion, of course.

This mod seems to be what I'm looking for... however, I'm wondering one thing:
Is there an option to sort the books like you have done, except still display the titles to the player normally, with "the" being at the beginning?

Basically, I'm looking for something that would use your sorting method, but with the titles being displayed as they originally were.

Thanks for the library reorganization. It fairly parallels our home library. Now I don't have to OCD anymore about it:)! Thumbs up!

This only renames books, it won't give them to you. You'll have to hunt them down yourself.
This mod should be compatible with any mod that does not change the names or models of the in game books. Mods that add more books still work, but they won't be renamed.

hi, just wondering. does this mod actually give you all the available books on skyrim or just rearrange the naming. if not, can you recommend a mod (if any) that's compatible with this one? thanks.

Nice mod - I particularly like the detail of matching books within a set (eg Wolf Queen V8 looked odd on the shelf without this mod). If you were looking to udate it futher, any chance the image of the book in the backpack can match the book on the shelf?

Tried collecting the books in my first playthough, gave up due to a lack of this mod. Maybe trying again in my new game :)

Just a quick note. LOVE the mod, but there are a couple of books that start with "A" that you missed, as in "A Minor Maze", etc. Not a huge problem, since now they're the rare exception rather than the rule, but I thought you'd want to know. Thank you for this mod! Sorting books properly before was driving me INSANE!

This mod is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. I collect books from all of Skyrim in hope of one day sitting down and reading the lore. All this mod needs to be perfect is integration with Books Books Books - yes, I know, it would break the normal mod, but couldn't you make another version that references book mods - like some mods have normal and Dawnguard editions? Just an idea. But regardless, thank you for this!
