Description
Roman arms, armour, much of it wearable and usable!

*** 0.7 Read!! Plus MAJOR UPDATE Dec 2, 2018: Brought mod back to life. Removed nonfunctioning mannequin, made weapons and helmets/shields wearable/usable again

****************************************************************************

Hi all!

This mod brings you a collection of decorative & functional Roman-era arms & armour. Thanks again to Equinox for his patience in teaching me the fundamentals of skinning, weighting, and rigging -- the plate armour in-game can now be worn! It is my first attempt at skinning & rigging armour, so it still clips a lot and is very imperfect. But I think a nice leap forward anyway.

Donations always appreciated. Modding -- & maintaining mods -- is hard work!

The mod contains:

-- Oval shield *
-- Legionary curved shield ("scutum") *
-- Spear (designed with melee in mind)
-- Pilum (Roman javelin with long thin metal shank)
-- Sword (late Roman-style "spatha" -- with scabbard you can toggle with 'F' key) *
-- Gladius (classic legionary short sword -- with two scabbard styles you can toggle) *
-- Helmet (a very Roman-style design with cheekpieces, neckguard, and brow ridge) *
-- Plumed helmet (same as above but with bright red plume for officers) *
-- Plate armour ("lorica segmentatum") with fine detailing added *
-- Chainmail (made actually see-through for added realism)
-- Brass scale armour ("lorica squamata") with laced front and internal padding
-- Greaves (shinguards, 1 left, 1 right, with brass decoration and internal padding)
-- Belt & baldric (sword belt) combination
-- Standard/Signum

* All the above marked with the asterisk have wearable/wieldable versions!

These are all Survival-ready. Each one describes where it is made (Smithy, Crafting Table, etc.). The shields, spear, and pilum have specific mount points, the other items can be mounted most any way you like.

**** WEARABLES ****
*************************************************************************
To wield a sword or shield, or wear a helmet or plate armour, have the item in your inventory, then go to your personal crafting inventory to change it from a placeable "block" item to a wearable "equipment" item. Once you do that, you can arm it just like a weapon or torch from your hot keys.
*************************************************************************

As always, I hope you enjoy! Please let me know what you like, don't like, and would like to see. And if you enjoy my work, please consider visiting my Patreon page at https://www.patreon.com/stori3D_past and sponsoring/donating. It's greatly appreciated!

Author has given me permission down below to dig into the mod and make some fixes. Will be looking at it over the next week or so.

@Zombie I think he knew that already after not getting an answer for (almost) TWO years.
True to your name you resurrected a dead threat.

@Kangz I do not think so and I do not think the modder will update/fix. Nothing provides any actual defense and you are not able to even were some of the items, so as far as I am concerned this mod is broken/OOD.

@Skall, no worries, you're welcome to dig into it and try whatever works!

@OP Well ... Game changed a lot in past year, tho. And the game running too hot ... I guess that is /was because of the engine, of which this deveoloper team only has limited influence. (Space Engineers runs hot, too)
In fact I have many indy EA games which are running hot, usually because optimizing comes as last step.
That being said ... I also currently not playing it. Cause I don't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. (Can't pinpoint why, tho.) And I have other games I currently like more. And not playing games as much lately. (got into a few other hobbies which take up my time ... and are more productive)

No worries my friend. if you will allow it, I can have a look and see if I can fix it. I think they would just need the items in question be assigned to a learning tree and done done. They exist in creative but in survival they dont unlock...

Heya. Sorry I haven't responded sooner, I rarely check in anymore. I haven't been able to play the game right for over a year. Ran way too hot on my computer because the game has a threading bug that the devs didn't have time to look at. So I've moved on and all the files are gone, etc. Glad to see people are still playing & enjoying it. I wish the game had become what it always could have.
