Description
Remember Microbots? They have grown, haven’t they? After an almost blood-less rebellion of Mars, the miners and explorers stranded there have fully adopted their planet’s lower gravity and started to assemble huge floating robots to assist their mining operations. This mobile base is actually a drone that you can call upon instead of having to tow the ore to it. Autopilot doesn’t normally work for land vehicles, but since this microbot is floating, it works! This opens up many possibilities.

Instructions – add FRICTION to its wheels to deploy it. Set it to zero to enable movement. That’s it.
Pilot it like a drone if you need to relocate, or just set a waypoint for it and activate the autopilot. (see the video)

Future is mobile as all static defenses will be easy to overcome, and this “landship” is the only production vehicle you will ever need. You can focus on exploration or fighting and only call for it when you need support or repairs.

There is a drive-thru repair or construction yard under the base.

It’s efficient: No reactors or expensive components. It uses renewable, stored solar power and ice for movement. You can easily build it from the starting landing ship.

Upgrades: This is a basic - super cheap model. Many weapon hardpoints if you want to turn it into a floating fortress. Add more thrusters if you want to avoid it “sliding” away.

Tested extensively on Mars.

@parkasever This build is great, but it now has one large problem. The refinery now blocks the wheels from spawning, and the wheels stop the refinery from being built

I think i understand what you mean... i tried both versions... at first let it built by nanites, as i saw the tires ar emissing, removed i the rest of the blocks, added tires and tried the blocks after again. no chance... Tires are to close to the own other blocks. Iam not sure if there is a setting now where you can adjust the distanze between wheels and the axlestuff... have to check....

@andigogo - You've built it in Survival! Great! - either the ground is in the way and you will have to lift it up before the wheels can be spawned. OR one of the recent updats might have changed the allowed distances from wheel grids to other blocks. Try placing them FIRST or maybe wider.

Hi, i build it now but i dont get the wheels on. Somehting is in the way. Whats the trick to get the wheels on it?? is it just to put a 3x3 wheel on the wheelbase?

Use it while you can - the 0 friction wheels might not end up in the final game.

@zenol - Turn the wheel and set its friction to 0. Then use some kind of thruster for movement.

how do you make it hover like that? i want to make a land speeder that does the same thing.
