DUE TO GAME UPDATES AND CESSATION OF MOD DEVELOPMENT - THIS MOD NO LONGER FUNCTIONS AS EXPECTED

The Steam Workshop Mods - **INFANTRY** and **SOLDIERS AT WAR** will be replaced with a new mod i have been developing.

To run this mod with the latest version of Running With Rifles, it requires a workaround to bypass the steam overlay system for RWR, this process is NOT intrusive and will NOT harm your install of RWR if it is followed closely and correctly.

If you are NOT CONFIDENT in working with folders and file explorer then PLEASE DO NOT PROCEED with or attempt this workaround, please turnaround and try out the other great mods on steam workshop, I don't want you to encounter a problem with your game and have to uninstall and re-download the game if something bad happens, so please keep this in mind before you make a choice to proceed with the workaround.

Apologies for the mod not working as originally designed, but if you follow this workaround, the mod should work as originally intended from when it was first released a few years ago by running directly from the games 'packages' directory and bypassing the steam workshop overlay system.

Have a look at the steps and get a gist of what is involved before you proceed.

To install the mod, please follow these steps closely:

1 - Subscribe & download the mod
2 - When the mod has finished downloading, Open file explorer & navigate to the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\270150\919393524
3 - You will see a directory named: soldiers_at_war_heavy - copy (do not cut) this folder to the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RunningWithRifles\media\packages
4 - Start the game, the mod will appear in the 'Start New Campaign Menu' and the 'Quick Match Mod Menu'

To uninstall the mod, please follow these steps closely:
1 - Open file explorer & navigate to the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RunningWithRifles\media\packages
2 - Locate the folder: soldiers_at_war_heavy - Select and delete the folder: soldiers_at_war_heavy
3 - Go to the Soldiers At War Heavy steam workshop page and unsubscribe from the mod, this will remove the mod folder from the steam overlay mod system for running with rifles and record the action on your steam client.

Following these steps closely as described above and you will not encounter any problems or issues with the installation and uninstall of the mod.
