you need to go in the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RunningWithRifles\media\packages\soldiers_at_war_heavy\factions and find default_base.character, after that u need to change <parameter class="running_steer_amount" value="0.375" on the wathever you want
I updated the mod description & installation instructions.
the mod will not work normally through the steam overlay system (ie. subscribe & play)
the mod will work as originally intended when run from the running with rifles packages directory therefore bypassing the steam overlay.
please follow the updated instructions to run this mod
if you are not confident in file explorer or copying folders here and there then please don't continue with the install instructions, i don't want you messing up your game.
i have ceased development on this mod as i am working on the new mod to replace my old mods
sorry for my absence from steam for a year and a half, i am back and i want to finish my work on running with rifles, this new mod will be my final mod for rwr, i am working to finish the retexture of the vanilla game right now and when that is finished i will finish this new mod.
I am working at the moment on a retexture of the vanilla game, when i am finished with that i will resume work on my new mod.
My brother and i have created alot of military vehicles for the new mod, you can see what has been created on my steam profile artwork page.
any idea how to find the directory?
Curious to know about the new mod you are developing as well.
Cheers.
Either way i don't mind what modders do with this old mod, if it all ends up in the rwr modding community in the end and everyone is having fun, then i am happy none the less.
Thank you for taking the time to ask me about that, i appreciate your courtesy.
Good luck with your modding
The soldier models I am using in my mod is from a dead mod, whose author may not be reachable. The soldier models in question appear to be heavily based on the ones in this mod so I suspect the author may have taken them from this mod.
As such, is it ok for me to use those models in my mod?
The Steam Workshop Mods - **INFANTRY** and **SOLDIERS AT WAR** will be replaced with a new mod i have been developing.
DUE TO RECENT GAME UPDATES - THIS MOD NO LONGER FUNCTIONS AS EXPECTED
In order to get this mod to run on your system - copy the mod directory to your running with rifles packages directory.
copy the folder 'soldiers_at_war_heavy' located in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\270150\919393524
to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RunningWithRifles\media\packages
-Added fix for script build error to campaign difficulty selection on the fly provided by RWR developer Jack Mayol.
(Casus Belli Expansion Pack)
Yes I am aware of that, but even when I'm standing still the AI still seem to have much greater visual range than me. I am already playing on the highest possible resolution in fullscreen mode.
i think your best bet is to try running Soldiers At War - Light
I have been thinking about steering my modifications for RWR in a new direction and into one single modification that i have more creative control over that is not influenced so much by the expansion of the vanilla game. I did not anticipate how large RWR would grow when i first started modding it and the way i chose to mod the game is too intricate and detailed for me to keep up with the expansion of content in the game as a whole including DLC's.
I like the concept of the soldiers at war mod and i will be developing this concept further in the future.
Most of my spare time is spent studying C# programming and the unity engine.
Modding RWR is my choice of a creative outlet where i can practice some things regarding game development.
Thank you for taking interest in my mods for RWR.
There are many assets in my mod that are not created by myself and many assets that are created by me, people can use my creations with the proper credit given to me, but be sure to check with myself or from the mod description if the asset is mine or another artists work, for example some of the 3d vehicle models are from other artists while some are heavily modified vanilla assets with new 3d models attached and some are created from scratch by myself.
Thank you for engaging with me and presenting me with this question, i appreciate that.
Development of my mods for RWR has paused for the time being.
However, I am a bit disappointed in the variety of weapons. Especially the US forces have, of course, a lot of M4 variants but not much more.
Will be more weapons implemented in the future?
Updated the campaign difficulty selection menu with the new difficulty features from RwR 1.8 as a result Fov can now be enabled and disabled in the campaign menu difficulty selection menu.
Temporary fix for crash to desktop - had to disable camouflage suit carry item and aa_emplacement vehicle. Until exact cause for the error is found.
Disabled field of view
I stopped the mod from crashing to desktop, had to disable the camouflage suit and an aa_emplacement file for it to work with the latest version of RWR 1.81, i havent play tested the whole game with the mod so it is not 100% sure that it is bug free with the RwR 1.81.
I also chose to disable the fov due to alot of requests and my own personal tastes. I thought you could still enable or disable it in the game menu with the mod but it doesnt appear to be the case, dont know yet how to activate that.
Have fun, Merry Christmas and a New Year !
