[SP] Naval Strike

Description
USS Freedom has come into range of the CSAT controled island, Altis.

Your Mission is as follows:

- Destroy the Radar Comunications Array.
- Cripple their Armour Depot.
- Disable their ability to launch aircraft from Altis Air Base.

Features of the Mission:

- Automated landing and take offs from the carrier by the AI.
- Fully Animated motions by the ground crew.
- Rearm and Repair on the carrier.
- Few other hidden gems.

This mission is still under development, so if you have an idea of a type of mission you would like included, let me know!

If you feel you need to give this mission a negative rating, please at least share your thoughts as to why, I can not improve it by playing guessing games :-)

Haha thanks! I have not played Arma in a long time so not made any more missions, but perhaps the urge will come back at some point!

dayum son. i wish i had put in more effort in my shitty mission. I hope make more jets based missions, we need more aircraft scenarios.

Pew Pew - Thank you! Why should the Game end just because you are shot down ;-) The Carrier launch was made from a mixture of unitplay / unitcapture scripts I made as well as timed animations to work around them all, fairly easy once you know how!

I actually like that you designed a rescue section should you bail out. Its so rare to see that in these aircraft centered missions.

i also want to know how you manage to get the AI to launch off Freedom. Did you copy the code from the Jets Showcase?

Yes. I found this as well. I have dispatched the YAK-130 charging. However, after that I found that TO-201 on the ground would just charge at me and spam missiles at me before my wingman can even show up. Please make sure that the TO-201 doesn't fire at all when on the ground again, I saw stealth yellow circles firing at me but I only have visual contact of TO-201 on the ground. Thanks. Maybe you can change it and let wingman takeoff with me like in Jets showcase so that I would not be left alone to fight 3 to 5 stealth jets at the same time.

I am surprised to the level of difficulty you are getting, so I shall check on everything to make sure its working as the following is in place, 1. The TO-201 do not activate until BLUFOR reach the airfield or the Radar is destroyed (which ever comes first) so you only have 2 jets to take care of at the beginning of the mission. 2. Any aircraft on the ground has their weapons disabled until they are airborne, so if they are firing missiles with this on is puzzling. 3. Do remember that you have the ability to call in a wingman for if the mission proves too difficult and help you take care of the bandits. I shall however make sure that everything is working as designed nevertheless.

1. Decrease the amount of TO-201 on the airfield to 1 and change the skill to medium. 2. Keep the TO-201 like this but send in two stealth F/A-181 in AA loadout as reinforcements with medium skills to balance the amount of missiles launched per salvo, if you add a stealth F/A-181 to be chosen by player it would be awesome too, since usually the first sortie would be stealth only just like in real life. Personally I recommend the first one because it's really laggy once I get into the airfield due to the amount of enemy jets. If you add another stealth F/A-181 with full AA loadout it would be even more realistic.

I just replay the mission for practice, however I found the mission to be quite unplayable. I understand your intention of setting the opfor pilot's skill to low, but the situation is a 1 vs 5 dogfight. Here's the problem: yes on close range they are cheap kills, but on long range their stealth profile and the capability to spam missiles are overpowered and they are also capable of spamming missiles when they are on the ground. The squad you sent in from the start just dies instantly without really destroying anything. I got two solutions.

That mission would say there is a enemy jet somewhere on the island, if an objective is not showing, it could of glitched on the ground at the airfield. Have a look and see if one is stuck behind debris.
