Description
Located in the Central American state of Panama, the Panama Canal is one of the engineering marvels of the post-Industrial world. The idea of a canal in Panama has been around for centuries, it was not until the French in the 19th century began construction on the first attempt that any action had been taken. Where the French failed, the Americans suceeded, and the canal was completed in 1914, shortening the journey from the Atlantic to the Pacific by several thousand kilometres and vice versa, and is now one of the most crucial waterways in the world. Ingame, the Panama Canal provides +25% Gold from Trade routes, +1 Gold from Harbors and a free Harbor in the city in which it is built. It requires the city to be on a coastal tile, and the Railroad technology.

Uses leftover art from within the game files, and requires the Gods & Kings expansion pack

Had to comment on "Scotland tried it first" statement. Not sure where you got your degree, but I would get your money back.

The Scots did throw financial support to the canal, but never personally laid hands on it. The french are to thank for the thought of trying, the scots just lost their money when the french failed.

Great Mod!

Actually... Scotland tried it first. Sorry... I have a history degree and a twitch. :/

The art is still in the files, it just didn't make the final cut to be hooked up to anything

I've seen that artwork on the loading screen for the game once. How'd it end up there if the designers never put the actual wonder in the game? Still a great mod though!
