Trace Empire Customisation

Description
'TEC' primarily contains dozens of vanilla-art-friendly rooms and cities.

Sequel to the deleted early Stellaris mod:

Please note no ship sets are finished, but I wanted to at least get them to a point where they look different in the preview so you don't accidentally use a placeholder.

Still waiting on Paradox to take out the hard-coded system where every city needs a species set and ship type.

Rooms:
For easier updating and more user choice, rooms are now only in my dedicated room mod!

This mod is the successor to my 'More City Types' mod that was popular in about 2016.
Highlights include:

- Factory city (like the unselectable industrial city, but without the brick house rows)
- Overgrown city (mammalian cities with the lights off, buildings covered in vines)
- Newcomers city (habitation hubs and geodesic dome networks)

SHIPS ARE LOW PRIORITY PLACEHOLDER because this started as a city set mod.
Ideally one day there will be unique meshes for ships and textures for all the city types included. Highlights include:

- Newcomers (a WIP style that looks low-tech and ragtag)
- Overgrown (mammalian ships with green windows and blotches independent of flag-based engine trails)
- Dirty (the old reskinned reptile theme has been redone into a dirty pirate culture)

Issues:
- New, empty species categories were added. The game lists them after the base ones, but I'm afraid it's stuck since the game is very rigid in saying "1 city per 1 species group".
- Ships are placeholder. I'd rather not have them in until done, just focus on the cities and rooms for now!

Update, 20 October 2019:
-Removed things I didn't like in every area, I'm trying to go for quality over quantity.
-More ecumenopolis support. Thanks to Bįőfąŧăĺ Đĭăpáşøń for making some!

Compressed a few more files, some textures are as little as an eighth in size. I mainly did this to save you guys hard-drive space, but I think I missed a few. For now.

October 2020:
Snipped the mod down more, the rooms are back in their separate mod for easier maintenence going forward.

News:
Regarding Halo themed graphics
I joined with the Sins of the Prophets Stellaris team in 2020! I gave them full permissions to use any Halo-appropriate cities and other graphics I've made, and I stopped working on my Halo content solo.

Feel free to use anything I make as modder resources, especially if I've not been around. Preferably with credit.

Mod compatible. Probably achievement compatible but it's very strict.

There's been similar on my other mods, so I suspect the game has changed how species files work, I'll have to sort of relearn Stellaris to test fixes but thanks for the report that spurred me into actually checking it out.

I wish the Newcomer shipset worked properly! Love that idea

I'll be honest I forgot about this mod. Should do since cities haven't changed in a long time. Not sure if there's different aspects in the mod that might not but nobody has accused me of murdering their game. Recently.

I wonder if they will work with the current patch?

Appreciated :)

That screenshot is unfortunately from 2017, tbh maybe it shouldn't be on the page if it was never finished, though it isn't impossible it will be finished one day, also thanks.

From that one screenshot of the "newcomer" ship set alone, I am excited to see the rest of it!

Okay good news, just had to leave the launcher to chill and fixed the mod filepath. Should be compatible with Aquatics again. Please let me know if there's any issues, I'm very out of practice with Stellaris modding, but it should be fine.

Sorry to hear about that. I currently have some bad launcher issues that mean I can't update my mods, hence the sudden hold on i.e. Better Necroids.
I can already tell what caused the issue (empty species pack called 'Aquatic' overwriting the not so empty DLC one) and can fix it myself, when actually able to. I will add a warning to the description and I'll throw a couple more attempts at uploading mod updates asap
