Increased Forest Density - Predator Oriented Edition

Description
WIP

(THIS IS NOT HELPFUL BOT'S ORIGINAL MOD)

This is a modified version of Helpful Bot's original and amazing mod, go check it out!
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=751871219&searchtext=increased+forest+density

"You're in the heart of the jungle now"

Welcome to ♥♥♥♥♥♥' vietnam boy, now the forest is your enemy. Bears will ♥♥♥♥ you up, squirrels will ♥♥♥♥ you up, trees will ♥♥♥♥ you up, mud will ♥♥♥♥ you up.

The forest density has been turned down a few notches from Helpful Bot's original mod, the rivers have been removed (I liked them a bit, but I never understood the point of them when part of the new update was all about landing next to rivers, roads, etc.), and some of the flora spawns have been toned down.

However, the animal spawns and predator AI has not been touched.

This mod focuses mostly on the intresting mechanics of the predator side of things. The game starts off pretty simple as always, but soon you will realize the world is more "dog eat dog" than you remember. Bears, wargs, and other predator types will hunt down other animals as prey, maybe even your own. But if you don't keep these predators in check they will soon begin hunting you.

BUGZ & BORING STUFF THAT YOU MAY OR MAY NOT CARE ABOUT, PLEASE DO NOT YELL AT ME

CONFLICT AWARENESS: This mod currently conflicts with the Vegetable Garden and will conflict with any other mod that makes changes to biomes or the plants and animals that spawn there (not including incident-based creatures/npcs). That conflict is due to how much information is kept in the biome file and is just how Rimworld is written at the moment. I am in the process of investigating ways to work around this. I will say though, take a look at the discussions page about tweaking this mod because what i've done here is not very complex and is something that you can merely recreate yourself with the adjustment of only a few variables. Rimworld is written so that it has ONE file (for each biome) that contains: Biome Map generation, Terrain generation, Vegetation type and freqency, creature type and freqency, ILLNESS TYPE AND FREQENCY, FACTION BASE SELECTION WEIGHTS, and Biome weather type and freqency.

!CRITICAL DISCLAIMERS!
ONLY USE ONE KUDZU MOD AT A TIME! They are all just degrees of the same general thing.
All Kudzu mods are intended to be used on new games (once terrain is generated, that terrain is permanent) *BUT* the vegetation, animal density, and animal variety SHOULD gradually change even on old saves.

Kudzu SHOULD be able to be added or removed freely on both old and new saves; animal density, vegetation, and animal variety will slowly revert to whatever biome definitions are in use.

This mod has absolutely no effect on farm crops or plants within grow zones that are planted by the player. It is unclear whether plants within grow zones count toward the plant density but if it does, then it is more than likely a negligible value/contribution.

KNOWN PROBLEMS

Boreal Forest has HUUUGE marshes around the rivers, not sure if it's like that in the base game.

I remember during early testing trees would grow back at an abnormal rate, no clue if it still does that.

bears, so many bears.....

SOME OTHER TOTALLY TUBULAR MODS YOU SHOULD USE WITH THIS MOD CAUSE THEIR RAD AS ♥♥♥♥

No death randomness - Title explains it all, makes it so you cant just die all of a sudden by getting hit in the leg (with the exception of bleedouts). Now you have to take torso damage or organ damage. - https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=27580.0

Realistic Lighting - Now you can scream in fear as a bear chases you back home, in better darkness! - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=740930354

Deadly Vanilla Weapon Tweaks - This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I was a big Combat Realism guy and this is like the best of both worlds between the arcade-y battles and the "you get shot once your dead" deal. Great for putting those pesky predators in place, but be warned you'll be put in place by everything else. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=824659667

Hey, so what about 1.0? Anyone have a similar mod for these times?

@crazyroosterman yeah, i plan to update it, but i don't really use it anymore unless i'm going for an ultra survival mode. expect it probably a little before or after thanksgiving, between playing the new update and doing other things i haven't really thought about working on it yet.

Sorry, I thought it was this because the issue always happened when it got cold enough to kill plants. Thinking it was due to the sheer amount of plants on map that are freezing. Turns out it has to do with alien race framework.

@druid do you have logs?

I think this mod was the culprit of my massive fps drops after a couple hours

They arent spawning in packs, but unless i go on daily bear hunts I was having to deal with them piling up to basically form packs within a few days. Im looking at a 80x80 patch of land with over 20 grizzy/polar bears in it. Unless the map is made out of meat I dont think it can sustain this many bears hahaha, will update and see how it evens out after i purge them
