CV Commercial Miner 7.5

Description
This Heavy Industrial Vessel is ideal for exploring the verse for valuable reasources. Although it is not a ship of war, it is fast, armored, and equipped to defend it self, meaning there is no fight you should not be able to evade. The Commercial Miner comes fully equipped with all the necessities to get the job done. It is fuel efficient and able to fit through the standard double hanger door, Ideal for PVP bases. The toggle switch directly behind the cockpit disables the main drive to allow for percision flying around space rocks. At full speed the Commercial miner easily navigates Asteroid feeds. The ribbed outer haul is a defensive feature. With the exception of a perfectly aligned Broadside, all glancing fire should strike a rib, limiting damage to the inner haul.

The Commercial Miner is designed to be a stand alone vessel. I have found it easy enough to hand the keys over to other faction members to independently run around for resources. Although this CV is effective with just one player, it is capable of accommodate several passengers. Their is room in the hold for 2 to 4 small HV depending on your parking skills. I can fit three HV03-Meteor-Truck in the Commercial Miner's Hanger with ease.

Although SVs may dock with the Miner, there is little need for them. Generally when resource gathering, your team will be harvesting space rocks with the mining lazes or scouting a moon for meteors. Several players have taken to docking a very small SV on the roof of the hanger bay just in front of the warp drive. This is not all that difficult if you land the Miner upside down. Just keep in mind if you block the door with HVs it may not be possible to deploy your SV in space.

All in all I have really enjoyed this designed. Please try it out and let me know what you think. Please give it a thumbs up if you enjoy it. ^_^

I am glad to see that this 7.5 design is still active and viable. It is a good ship and gets the job done at minimal costs. I have always enjoyed flying it.:steamhappy:

Upgreaded with 7.5 Shield emmiters. No more fighting that annoying door. Also revisited the thrusters allowing for better venteral an latteral controls. Commands and signels are now available via to control panel. Passangers powers down internal turrets while powering up the passanger seats.

Will be adding this to my fleet tonight after playing with it in SP.... Very nice ship. Accompanies well with your HV2 and HV3's.

Ahh, that makes sense. It was when I initially placed it, and at the time, due to a miscalculation, the ship WAS pitched forward a fair amount. I'll put the doors back in and give it a try since I now keep it placed on a level tarmac.

I have seen this but it has more to do with the character angle. On Planet the character can only ever be upright in regards to the map yet Ships can land in any direction. When ever the CV is angled nose down your character hits their head on the door due to the angle of the stairs. So long as the CV is parked noise up hill or on a flight deck then your character angle improves allowing them to pass.

Regardless when the Miner got tossed by a meteor or bumped by other CVs I have had to remove the door. I tride a roll door to the same effect. Due to the limited options there is not much we can do without massive modification to the front of the ship.

Thanks for your post.

Found a bit of an issue. The doors on the stairs leading up to the flight deck block movement, even when they are open. Apparently the frames have just enough thickness to prevent you from being able to go up the stairs. I just took them out for the time being, and it works fine. Looking to see if I can come up with a more permanent solution that still allows the flight deck to be isolated.

Greetings all. Rev 4.

The sensor that operated the ramp has been moved back to the Warp core. This resolves the issue with the Repair Bay failing to function but it also puts the edge of the sensor grid right at the end of the ramp.

I can not find a better solution for the airtight door. It does not recognize HVs and adding to the sensor means anyone could get into the miner. At best you can force activate the door and it will remain open until you park.

I relocated the Main Generator and Warp Tank and readded the storage boxes everyone liked. This should make it easyer to park HVs.

Alright x2, Found the air issue in the forward cab. I just needed to reverse the upper cockpit door. Added more armor over the rear thuster and moved the generators to avoid a catistrofic thruster explosion.
