Description
A good old gmod 12 map, rescued from the sands of time (used to be called rp_downtown_v2_srh)
Obviously not made by me, check the billboard on the mall for the list of map creators

map has been resaved with an altered farZ value so it doesn't cuck your FPS as much as the original did
features compared to v2:
- Custom spawn area inside a subway station
- A mall
- Redone town square
- Redone PD
- A mansion
- Extended sewers
- A small lake/forest area with a cabin
- A parking garage with hobo lair
- Extended and improved apartments
- Many of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ less used buildings replaced and/or redone

Highly suited to smaller (<30 players) servers that want a comfy atmosphere without being big enough that large swathes of town end up completely deserted

oh true, soz i read that in the wrong tone lol
its not decompiled so the only thing i could change was messing with entity values to change the farz

I was wondering if you did more is all. I get down to a lower fps in parts of the map than when I played on the original.

well, this is certainly a blast from the past.

to further extend on Szymon's points 2 years ago:

1. the source was lost when Drakehawke's laptop was stolen during a burglary, it was never recovered, backed up or given to anyone else prior to the incident.

2. indeed, a map trigger was placed on the stairs leading out from the train station which checks for the presence of a certain debugoverlay variable. if this variable is not present or incorrectly set, any player walking into the trigger will crash you and everyone else.

3. i see no reason to keep the map key a secret anymore. if you want to bypass the protection, you need to enter into your console the following:

lua_run debugoverlay.MAP_KEY_Q = "gvpFxLWLMKWtXHfM"

ideally the variable would be set automatically on server start (which is how we did it before).
