Version 1.1.3a, Mid-sized Flavor, AI and Localisation Update, with some map improvements (1.7.* Hydra compatible)

Features/Content

  • The main feature of this patch (though not immediately noticeable) has to be the two new AI files. The first one of these handles the main lines in what the AI countries should research, with especially things like infantry tech, industry and land doctrine highly prioritized, with electronics and air doctrines somewhat boosted. Naval equipment and naval doctrine have been less prioritized generally. There are some specific strategies too which add back some naval focus to certain naval focused nations, and one that does this to a lesser degree for partially naval focused nations. There's also some further special strategies such as the United Kingdom and Germany starting to prioritize armor research some time during 1916 in an effort to break the stalemate, Bulgaria ramping up artillery research focus when they have their designer, and Serbia focusing hard on infantry tech and land doctrine if at war with Austria-Hungary or Italy.

  • Special AI military strategies, with Germany finally prioritizing the west initially if going for Schlieffen, and both them and Austria-Hungary remaining on the defensive in the east initially if at war with Russia when this is ongoing. There's also attempts at simulating some historical campaigns if historical focuses is checked before playing the game. This includes, but is not limited too, the Italian Isonzo river battles (Italian attack, Austro-Hungarian defense), the Gallipoli campaign (the UK and Australia primarily), Verdun (split into three, German attack, German defense and French counterattack), the Brusilov Offensive and the Kaiserschlacht. Feeling good about these, but let's see if they work before celebrating.

  • Added two starting ideas to Persia (one timed). These have their own focus icons and localisation already.

  • Added one new idea picture and one new event picture.

  • Added 4 new cities to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, 4 to the Kingdom of Romania and 2 to Russian held Bessarabia. Also moved Brăila to the south both to make room for the bigger city of Galati, and because it was slightly misplaced.

  • Rejigged the Victory Point values of certain cities in A-H and Romania, based on historical populations and their importance. Examples include Triest, Brassó, Salzburg and Craiova.

Localisation
  • Added descriptions to 4 Bulgarian Balkan focuses, 2 Bulgarian Aviation focuses and 4 Serbian Balkan focuses.

  • Renamed the Austro-Hungarian states and cities further (Slovenia --> Krain, Ljubljana --> Laibach, Trieste --> Triest).

Balance and fixes
  • From previous update (1.1.3, no room to write it in the changelogs there): Improved how historical city names are applied to Norwegian and Ottoman starting cities, now the task of handing certain cities period appropriate names is done through their respective history files rather than the starting event.

  • Actually switched a civilian factory and a military factory around between Struma Valley and Stara Planina to represent Sofia Artillery Arsenal this time. Last patch where I claimed to do this I accidentally edited the 1936 buildings only. Also readded an airbase to Struma Valley (Sofia) to represent the bases of the Bulgarian Aviation Squad.

  • All focus given research bonuses for Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire are now buffed to 40% (most common) or 50% bonus speed to make them sensible and decent with the new research speed instead of research time bonuses introduced by Paradox in one of the newer patches.

  • Rebalanced some later Bulgarian Balkan focuses. Now they give less political power, but more army, naval and air experience.

  • The event giving Bulgaria the temporary "Bulgarian Nationalistic Fervor" national spirit/idea no longer checks for if at war with Montenegro, primarily because it's now possible to get Montenegro to stay out of that war or take your side, but also because it was an unnecessary check.

  • The non-aggression pact with Romania is now removed for Bulgaria if they do the "Expansionist Policy" focus.

  • Rebalanced the Schlieffen Plan idea to hopefully put in the final piece of the puzzle needed for a historical German advance early in the war. This is now a very powerful idea, but it comes at a cost that will hopefully grind the Germans down a little towards the end of the grand assault.

Version 1.1.3, Large Flavor, Feature and Balance Update, with some map improvements (1.7.* Hydra compatible)

Features/Content

  • Added a decision for Austria-Hungary to puppet Albania once they've sufficiently occupied Serbia during WW1. This represents the occupation on rather friendly terms that occurred back then with Albanians having quite a bit of autonomy. In game this is represented by a new idea giving them gradually more autonomy and some reduced consumer goods usage to represent investments made by the Empire.

  • Somewhat similarly, but a bit harsher, added the possibility for Germany to puppet Luxembourg at the start of the Schlieffen plan should Luxembourg agree. This kinda happened historically, though the Germans might have had plans on eventual annexation. A somewhat worse national spirit than the Albanian one is given to represent this occupation, and the Grand-Duchess of Luxembourg now has a new starting trait representing her cordial attitude to the occupiers.

  • There's also the timed "Low Popular Support" idea for Luxembourg, to represent a large part of the populace disagreeing with their leaders collaborating with the Germans. It will take some time before their country can be of use to the Central Powers, or itself for that matter.

  • New event leading up to the Occupation of Luxembourg of course, with a new event picture.

  • New leader trait, like mentioned.

  • Bulgaria can now even call Montenegro to war in the Second Balkan war if they won the influence mini game, through a decision and a subsequent event. Montenegro gets the final say if they want to join, but it can be asked again after a certain cooldown if they did not agree.

  • Treaty changes allowing for some small gains for Montenegro should they join Bulgaria and win the Second Balkan War.

  • Smarter checks for whether or not Montenegro should join the Entente upon the outbreak of the Great War, or not.

  • Reshaped the border between Eastern Thrace and Constantinople to allow for a super accurate Enos-Midia line.

  • Moved buildings in Struma Valley, Varna, Northern Thrace, Eastern Thrace and Constantinople to make the on map buildings have nicer and more sensible location, located near historical population centers and the likes (and also to account for the somewhat shifted border between Eastern Thrace and Constantinople). Also moved some airbases to match their graphics.

  • Finally in a bid to give the Central Powers the historical early advantage they had, a new timed idea is given to France upon the outbreak of the War should Germany have declared it representing their wait and see attitude. Slower division speed and entrenchment speed should see that AI Germany is able to advance at least a little bit into Belgium in such a case. There's also one for Germany that's been surprise attacked by France, but this one is not yet implemented.

  • 4 new cities in the Austro-Hungarian Empire (Bozen, Mostar, Zenica and Újvidék (Neu-Satz/Novi Sad).

  • Çanakkale city/VP added to the Ottoman Empire. Also Ankara is now worth less victory points since it wasn't that big and important back then, while Konya is now worth more victory points since it was relatively bigger and more important back then.

  • Historical starting guarantee of Bulgaria from Russia. Removed upon Bulgaria upsetting Russia with actions such as criticizing the Treaty of London and preparing to attack Serbia.

Localisation
  • Added near full early artillery localisation for Turkey, and some to Greece. Improved on the former Bulgarian and Serbian ones just a bit.

  • Added only generic descriptions of Field Artillery and Heavy Artillery for Austria-Hungary and Romania for now.

  • Filled the Bulgarian land unit lists even more, just in case the player or AI decides to make a whole heap of units. Now the fallback names will likely not be used at all, though they are very similar.

  • Added localisation for the new cities, and renamed most existing Austro-Hungarian cities to German, Hungarian or Croatian/Bosnian/Serbian depending on whether they were in Cisleithania (or majorly German inhabited), Transleithania or the Condominium of Bosnia.

  • Localisation for all the new ideas, decisions, events and so forth.

  • Some smaller localisation fixes/improvements.

  • More filling comments on my script for those interested (particularly in the main localisation file).

Balance and fixes
  • All doctrines boostable with army/navy/air experience now, like in the base game as of 1.7!

  • Fixed the Brest-Litovsk treaty to hand Åland over to Finland and remove the former Russian Empire cores upon the newly independent nations and lost territories. Some can of course still be regained through focus. The Soviets now also start with some initial cores to be able to defend themselves better, and then of course gaining cores on all of the remaining Russian Empire upon winning the civil war. Also tried to portray Mongolia a tad more accurately during this.

  • Fixed and improved the Treaty of Frankfurt. Walvis Bay is accurately targeted, and further improvements have been made for Ottoman, German and Austro-Hungarian gains (also clears many Entente claims). It's now also possible to get gains by joining the Central Powers as: Persia, Ethiopia, Spain, the Netherlands, the United States and Japan. If several countries would want to get the same state such as Abu Dhabi (Ottomans & Persia), French Somaliland (Ethiopia & Italy) and Vlaanderen (the Netherlands and Germany) the stronger "claim" takes priority. So in these cases it goes Abu Dhabi --> Persia, French Somaliland --> Ethiopia and Vlaanderen --> the Netherlands. Also some limited gains can be made from this treaty off of Russia even if the Brest-Litovsk treaty fired a while ago. This includes only a few states such as Azerbaijan for Persia, and North Sakhalin for Japan. If you're the Russian Empire these can be avoided entirely by not letting the Brest-Litovsk treaty fire.

  • Command power added to the Bulgarian Militarism national spirit (and it's possible upgrade), as it was a tad underwhelming now.

  • Rebalanced the starter land doctrine. It really didn't make sense to me that machine guns gave only hard attack and no soft attack, so I fixed this and (in my own view) made that research split a real choice. Also went through other parts of the starter land doctrine since I was at it already. You'll see some changes from TGW itself.

  • Rebalanced the early ambulance techs in the infantry research tree. Wanted to make use of the new modifier Paradox added in a not too old update, and also make the morale buff apply to all army units.

  • Bulgarian and Ottoman Army theorists now give 10% land doctrine research bonus compared to earlier 7% and 0%.

  • Bulgarian focuses now give mutual opinion bonuses, and also a little bit of improved relations with Greece, Montenegro and Serbia. The main relations bonus with Serbia is lost upon criticizing the Treaty of London.

  • Added starting "Drazki Class" and "Nadezhda Class" ships for those playing Bulgaria without MtG too.

  • Fixed a broken event picture linking.

  • Fixed erroneous trait removal and trait allocation for Tsar Ferdinand should Bulgaria win the Second Balkan War (could have been the last update too, but I'm not sure so I'm just putting it here).

  • Switched a civilian factory from Struma Valley to Stara Planina and a military factory back to represent Sofia Artillery Arsenal as military industry of course.

  • Baluchistan, French Somaliland and British Somaliland have all been buffed a little (now they're pastoral regions, as opposed to wasteland and/or enclaves).

  • Buffed and tweaked some Bulgarian naval focuses. The scopes were too limited and the rewards too mediocre. Now they're more useful.

  • Cut airbases from several states as aviation was still in its infancy and using 1936 airbases for 1910 doesn't make sense.

Update: 22 Sep, 2019 @ 5:54pm

Version 1.1.2, Large Flavor and Naming Update, with fixes for old and new stuff (1.7.* Hydra compatible)

Features/Content

  • Added Dimitar Dobrev as a starting admiral for Bulgaria, with historical portrait (replaces the old "Dobrev" naval leader with no own portrait. Also added nice personality traits and skill allocation to him and "Rashko Serafimov" (replaces "Serafimov". Same portrait).

  • Added much smarter decision AI, both regarding the Montenegrin Allegiance decisions (which have also received a significant fix) and the Bulgarian Army drills. The Montenegrin AI in particular now spends less overall on the Montenegrin Allegiance decisions, and for all three country the investments don't fall of too much after a set amount of time now, among other AI modifier driven stuff. For the Bulgarian Military Drill decisions the base willingness have been reduced massively, but it's increased tenfold and more with large reserves of political power.

  • Added mod test events, mostly to speed up testing and add fun new stuff to my ongoing playthroughs. You can access them to in the Balkans_ablaze event file if you already started a game and need some of the new fixes, or some of the new stuff. For instance if you've started a game as Bulgaria before this update, you can use "event balkans_ablaze.1030" and option b, then repeated with option a, in the command console to first remove the old uninspiring naval commanders, and then secondly add the revamped much nicer versions of them.

  • Added some more interesting focuses to the Bulgarian bookmarks.

Localisation
  • Full MtG ship name lists for Bulgaria and Greece, with research done on historical ship names. The ships from the time period (1910 onwards) have been added at the very front of the 1936 ships lists, so now you get historical ship names for the time transitioning into ship names for the interwar period and onwards should you bother to play that long. The Bulgarian one has also been expanded with some plausible ones at the end, so you don't run out. Also no more "Svetlina" for the generic light cruiser name when the actual names run out. The "Historical Destroyers" tab/name list has been changed into "Historical TB/Destroyers" for both Bulgaria and Greece to fit the ships of the time too.

  • Full land unit lists for Greece, including linking all starting units to these lists. Also these have historical division counting with Roman numerals. Previously we had this for Bulgaria (with full name linking) and a basic one for the Ottomans (infantry, cavalry, garrison, all linked with their starting units).

  • Description for Tsar Ferdinand.

  • One new city for Serbia, one for Bulgaria, and two for the European part of the Ottoman Empire.

  • Not Balkan, but: The Petrograd/Leningrad state (state with St. Petersburg) is now named Ingria to fit better with the start of the game.

  • Some smaller localisation fixes/improvements.

Balance and fixes
  • No more Italy in the Balkan League. Seriously. I got fed up myself, and now there are three separate fixes just to make sure. Two in AI strategies, and one timed idea given by event. They should not call in any potential faction members to the Italo-Ottoman war either if they somehow join France or Germany early.

  • Fixed the Montenegrin Allegiance focuses being broken with comparing variables. Now the winners should get the political power correctly (Serbia/Bulgaria wins with 10 or more points in their direction, Montenegro if the points of Serbia and Bulgaria are no more than 9 points of value different from each other). Also nerfed this outcome to half the political power gained so it's not crazy good to win it. The tooltips have been updated, but requires careful reading to catch this (probably).

  • Hopefully Montenegro should now also not join with Serbia and Greece if Bulgaria has them influenced the most.

  • Fixed the threat allocation from several events. The Balkan League attacking the Ottomans now correctly gives two threat to each of the three bigger members.

  • The Ottomans now correctly starts with a core on the North Aegean (state/Islands).

  • Greece and Serbia now correctly get a claim on one part of Albania each when the first Balkan League is formed, as was largely the intention before the war and the Treaty of London.

  • Edirne/Odrin/Adrianople moved to its correct province. The two starting "trenches" moved with it to represent the fortress there. "Kırk Kilise", which was one of the cities added this patch would also fit in this province, but it was instead added to the province to the east of this one to have them both. Both of these were important cities and battle sites in their own right at the time. Also updated the events targeting these.

  • Fixed an event linking the wrong option text/localisation, giving not an inappropriate message, but not the intended one. Now a Bulgaria that's very successful in the Second Balkan War will have a bit more variation in its event replies.

  • It's now a tad easier to knock the Romanians and Ottomans out of the Second Balkan War as Bulgaria. There were several ways before, and now more. The simplest of them all is probably to control their capitals until the events trigger.

  • Rebalanced the German Staff idea to no longer give them such an unrealistic edge manpower wise, and to tone down the army experience gain just a tad. Starting Level for unit leaders (commanders) replaced with Starting Planning Level for unit leaders, as seemed more appropriate (and also more interesting).

Update: 18 Sep, 2019 @ 5:13pm

Version 1.1.1, Large Flavor, Map and Localisation update (1.7.* Hydra compatible)

Features/Content

  • Many, many new cities and state updates in the Balkans, Anatolia and elsewhere in Europe for flavor's sake. Some are renamed to their more temporary early 1900s names through the starter event, and then they can later be "reset" to their more permanent names later. Also rebalanced the victory point values of existing Northwestern European victory points, South Balkan victory points and West Anatolian victory points according to the size and importance of the different cities/towns at the time.

  • Started the work no one wanted to do. In addition to doing the victory points and historical city/town names in Northwestern Europe, this patch added historical May(!) 1910 populations in Iceland and the Faroes, as opposed to the TGW-used 1936 vanilla HoI IV population counts. It's a start at least.

  • Added more coal to the Struma Valley (Upper Struma/Sofia) state of Bulgaria to represent the historical growing mining operations around Pernik. Also added a bit to the Northern Thrace state just to the south of this.

  • Rebalanced the resources in the Ottoman Empire, specifically around the newly added Denizli town, where there was mining of both iron and chromium at the time. Now the relevant state not only has its new city on the map, but also rebalanced resources. The state now has slightly less wood, but more steel and chromium.

  • Also rebalanced the resources, industry and infrastructure of Northwestern Europe (Iceland, the Faroes, Norway and Denmark). Removed all airbases, added the relevant victory points (much taken from my NaW mod, but I also researched and added historical cities in Denmark's Jylland/Jutland Peninsula), reduced overall infrastructure in most affected states, added a few historical resources to Norway and Denmark (for Norway, a bit of steel and tungsten in Northern Norway and wood in the West and Trøndelag, for Denmark just a tad of wood in Jutland).

  • Added the "Balkan Infamy" decision category, which tracks the most threatening countries in the Southern Balkans. Currently just a glorified scoreboard that moves a bit up and down, but there's planned gameplay influences in the future. Added point adding and subtraction to various events and national focuses.

  • Added a new decision category picture for the above mentioned.

  • Added a decision for Austria-Hungary to instate the "friendly occupation" of Albania if at war with Serbia and controlling one of their two main states (if Albania exists, among other sensible checks). This is to represent the historical WW1 occupation where Albanians largely ran themselves, with some infrastructure investments and top level decisions by the Austro-Hungarians. Albania gets puppeted, but gets gradual autonomy and more free consumer goods for building through an idea. This idea also makes the AI prioritize defense so Albanian troops should stick around their home area mostly.

  • Above mentioned idea created.

  • Small mutual opinion modifiers added to Montenegro and Bulgaria if Bulgaria should come out on top of the diplomatic tug of war with Serbia.

Localisation
  • Loads of localisation for the new cities with historical names for the time period.

  • Renamed Epirus to Southern Epirus to specify.

  • Improved the spelling and writing of the Balkan introduction event for Italy, Austria-Hungary, Montenegro, Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria, the Ottoman Empire and Romania.

  • Better formatting of line breaks in tooltips and the like.

  • Specified the definite article form of Bulgaria, Montenegro and Serbia to be "the Tsardom of Bulgaria", "the Kingdom of Montenegro" and "the Kingdom of Serbia" respectively.

Balance and fixes
  • Fixed some broken localisation link to the "Balkan Politics" focus for Bulgaria. Before had nothing. Now has as much text as I could fit in the focus, as intended (just kidding, I would have liked more).

  • Fixed the First Balkan War with a correction to the end condition, namely the Ottomans' lost control of states. Before it was a little bit easier as the list was targeting a few non-Ottoman owned states. Now with the updated list, the Balkan League must control all Ottoman European mainland states (at least) with the exception of Constantinople to end the war.

Update: 16 Sep, 2019 @ 4:37pm

Version 1.1.0, Major Gameplay and Flavor update, with compatibility and small fixes (1.7.* Hydra compatible)

Features/Content

  • Added new land integration decisions for Bulgaria and Romania (somewhat more compacted decisions compared to the NE ones). Here they lie under the "Statecraft" decisions category.

  • Added the new "Montenegrin Allegiance" minigame (decisions) between Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro, similar to the Netherland's Gateway to Europe decisions from MtG. The plot twist here is Serbia starting in an advantageous position. Useful for a Bulgaria that wants to avoid overburdening itself in the Second Balkan War, or a Montenegro which wants to make their own choices. A political power prize goes to the winner.

  • Province modifiers.

  • New events.

  • Introducing triggers and effects by variables.

  • Some historical starting heavy guns for Serbia are now given in the new startup event.

  • A new decision category picture.

  • Rebalanced cores/claims in the Balkans further. Now Hungary has cores on all of royal Hungary.

  • Many European states (outside the Balkans too) now use more historical names, and have rebalanced cores. Now Memel is a German core instead of a Russian one.

  • Removed cores from some pacific islands colonies (though still more to do). Samoa is now German instead of American according to history which saw them controlling the larger area and population there. It also fits with the base game where New Zealand has taken hold of the German possessions there by 1936, represented as all of Samoa state.

Localisation
  • Added COMPLETE (land) division naming lists for Bulgaria, and the same for the most basic divisions of the Ottoman Empire (infantry, garrison, etc.), integrating starting division names from the map. This was a lot of work, and I had to learn Bulgarian counting. You best appreciate.

  • Plenty of new tooltips for readability, mostly for Bulgaria.

  • Added some artillery localisation for the Serbian tier one artillery pieces (light and heavy), as well as improving a tad on the Bulgarian ones (including higher tier WW1 artillery pieces Wolferos have not implemented, just in case).

  • Updated many state names and added new cities/towns with victory points.

  • New flavor and story events at the beginning. Now there is a joint introduction event which eventually will branch into specific story events. This is applied to all starting Balkan nations, and for Bulgaria it branches into their old starter event.

Balance and fixes
  • Fixed an annoying slot error for the Nadezhda Class protected cruiser for Bulgaria. Now it works as intended without error message.

  • Balanced the Serbian fighting spirit to somewhat more fitting standards. Now gives 5% division defense and 5% division (morale) recovery rate, so they're a mix of Montenegro and Greece. The recruitable pop is down to 2% like Montenegro and Greece.

  • Improved old events, including treaty events. Their localisation text has been improved alongside them.

  • Rethought starting cores/claims.

  • Rebalanced Ivan Kolev's overall level according to his skills from TGW. Also improved the Bulgarian commander traits after more research.

  • Rebalanced some of the Great Powers' national spirits to improve the flow of the war. Now the "Scramble for Africa" gives non-core manpower instead of straight manpower.

  • Fixed and then further balanced the electronics research of TGW.

  • Improved the renaming of Bulgaria's Monarchist/Neutrality Party so you can see it in the game menu as well.

  • Restructured the files and folders of the mod a bit.

Update: 2 Apr, 2019 @ 2:20pm

Version 1.0.4b, hotfix and localisation update (1.6.* MtG compatible)

Localisation

  • Updated mainland Greece with what was Larissa or Karditsa in earlier updates being spread out to two adjacent provinces, so both could be added now. Larissa is now where the base game (HoI IV) places it, while Karditsa is more inland.

  • Renamed the two states both named "Aegean Islands". Now they're named "Cyclades" and "North Aegean".

Balance and fixes
  • Updated outdated state references in event files, due to state numbers in TGW and BA being shuffled everytime vanilla states are integrated. The ones that were overlooked in the last update were mainly what is now called North Aegean (Islands) and Northern Epirus, but Pirot state (which is a BA creation) was also updated now.

Update: 31 Mar, 2019 @ 12:52pm

Version 1.0.4, MtG/Ironclad update, content, history, streamlining and localisation works (1.6.* MtG compatible)

Content

  • Updated the mod for MtG/Ironclad and the new TGW update.

  • Updated old unit/OOB files, and added more naval unit files for Bulgaria. Now there are some both for MtG, and for playing without MtG.

  • Updated history file (with starting idea, and new army leader Ivan Kolev, added by TGW mod in a previous update), and added a light cruiser class and a destroyer class for Bulgaria if MtG is activated, the "Nadezhda class" and the Drazki class, respectively.

  • The Sofia Artillery Arsenal idea/national spirit for Bulgaria is now with them from the very start rather than instantly added from the starting event. It's now also showcased in the country selection screen, which is now edited a tad with BA.

  • Updated state and map files to account for changing vanilla states, TGW changes and shuffled state numbers.

  • Cut some redundant localisation files, and formatted the BA specific localisation files to ensure it's both nice to work with and in line with base game loc-file formatting.

  • Also cut some state files for states I felt no need to differ from TGW and/or vanilla, and switched state numbers of new state additions.

  • Tried to keep event files updated with the newly shuffled state numbers (when HoI IV vanilla states are added, this often pushes TGW state numbers upwards when new vanilla states are implemented directly, which then push BA added states upwards. These numbers then need to be updated in map files, localisation files and event files).

  • Added a replace folder and file for localisation, for where I want to change localisation from the base game to something befitting the period more.

Balance and fixes
  • Redid resources in a couple Ottoman owned Balkan states with regards to the newest TGW update. Now there's a tad less stuff around Constantinople, meaning the Ottomans will have need of Anatolia and solid imports. Still, BA is still a bit more lenient than TGW alone in this regard.

  • The Ottoman "German Armament Imports" idea and event chain now gives an even larger discount for extensive conscription if the Ottoman player/AI decides to go for it (now the option only costs 75 political power).

Update: 20 Dec, 2018 @ 4:02pm

Version 1.0.3, gameplay and AI improvements, additional features (1.5.4 WtT compatible)

Additions

  • Added decision category framework and some simple Military Drill decisions for Bulgaria. There will be more interesting decisions in the future, but for now you have a thematically appropriate use for excess political power when at peace as Bulgaria.

  • Added starting trait for Tsar Ferdinand, and that one might change with gameplay and different outcomes of the Balkan Wars (indeed these "evolved" traits have been added as well).

  • Added several new ideas and timed ideas. Romania can prepare for Balkan War intervention, while Bulgaria also gets Balkan War Revanchism like Serbia should they lose out in the Second BW.

  • New localisation for new features.

Fixes/Rebalancing
  • Improved AI for Romania and the Ottomans. They should now be a tad better at manning the Bulgarian border, and a tad more aggressive, once the Second Balkan War ignites.

  • Slightly nerfed the "Balkan War Revanchism" idea for Serbia, as it was a little too strong in combination with the "Serbian Fighting Spirit" idea. It has also been made into a timed idea with a duration of 10 years instead of staying forever, which is still plenty of time to act with its benefits. The newly added Bulgarian one mirrors the Serbian one in duration and effects.

  • Improved Bulgarian historical aggressiveness with changing leader traits. Now success in the First Balkan War should increase their aggressiveness further, while defeat in the Second one should put a significant dampener on AI willingness to go on the offensive in future wars.

  • Added naval bases and appropriate victory point amounts to several states in and around Bulgaria. Constanta nerfed, Central Macedonia/Thessaloniki/Solun buffed, and a small naval base added to Kavala. Cetinje is worth a tad less victory points, Belgrade stays the same, Sofia and Edirne is worth a tad more, while Constantinople/Istanbul is now worth a lot more (fitting population numbers/importance/facilities).

  • Slightly increased Ottoman willingness to take the intervention focus for the Second Balkan War.

  • Improved old localisation a tad.

Update: 25 Nov, 2018 @ 3:59pm

Version 1.0.2, fixing some minor/moderate issues and fine-tuning events (1.5.4 WtT compatible)

Fixes/additions

  • Fixed issues where Romania and the Ottomans could rejoin the Second Balkan War if already kicked out of the war by Bulgaria. Now they'll join Serbia's war against Bulgaria by default, and only get war goals for themselves instead if there's no ongoing Serbian war with Bulgaria.

  • Added Ottoman focus file to edit, first and foremost to fix the rejoining the Second BW issue, but there will probably be further changes and additions in the future.

  • Added additional safety measures to prevent rejoining the Second Balkan War, even for Greece and Montenegro which didn't really have that issue. Best be on the safe side.

  • Reworked localisation and look of the "Ceasefire with Bulgaria" idea/national spirit. Now it looks better, and some redundant text from a separate peace issue-workaround from before WtT's new and improved peace system has been exchanged for something more appropriate.

  • The Ottomans now lose their cores on most of the Balkans like intended if they lose the First Balkan War. Previously Southern Macedonia had been overlooked.

  • In Serbia's worst case scenario, leaving them without Northern Albania and without Macedonia after the Balkan Wars, they will get a new "Balkan War Revanchism" national spirit upon the conclusion of the Second Balkan War to help them along a bit.

  • However, Serbia will also lose some base war support upon losing the Second Balkan War, ensuring they can't spring back immediately.

Update: 24 Nov, 2018 @ 3:56pm

Version 1.0.1, fixing broken stuff and small polishing improvements (1.5.4 WtT compatible)

Fixes/additions

  • Fixed a significant oversight in the peace treaty of the First Balkan War due to state numbers being shuffled after the addition of the Voivodeship Silesia/Silesia/Kattowitz by Paradox and then Wolferos. Now the event treaty accurately gives Bulgaria Northern Thrace like it's supposed to.

  • Added standard research bonus for doctrines to the Bulgarian military theorist.

  • Improved grammar and spelling, including fixing mistakes in the localisation of several events, ideas, designers and focuses.

  • Made a news event about the fall of Adrianople a major news event so the world can see it.

  • Somewhat limited the insanely high stability being given to Bulgaria in most instances, but added war support to places where it makes sense instead.

  • Added a claim for Greece on southern Albania/Northern Epirus.
